we however play an important challenge cup semi final against the saints the week after playing catalans at home

i am wondering if sky could prove to be the arbitrating factor in when this game is played?

saints are playing hull kr at home on the friday whilst we are playing dragons at home on the sunday,surely if both sides win in round 22 then they both should play on the friday in round 23 with both sides kicking off at the same time?

anyone else prefer a 7 day turn around prior to the cc semi final?

Not worried at all. Catalans are awful away from home. Besides, I think Warrington will beat Saints at HJ on Thursday and we'll wrap up top spot on Friday.

We have to beat Salford first and yes I would sooner we had a seven day break instead of five.
It came back to bite us before and lets face it Catalans will not roll over even though they are poor away from home and might need the two points to stay in the eights.

For what reason? There's no trophy at stake or anything. The longer turnaround point yes, but it's not going to be moved.

Top spot is contested during the Super 8s, nothing will be wrapped up on Friday.

Yorkshire Vikings are playing in a T20 match so Headingley is not an option.

I think the point was that Hull KR and Catalans should both be playing at the same time, as their final games could determine who finishes in the top 8.

For me the goal would be to be in the top two after the super eights then you are one home game away from the grand final

And it is much easier to get that goal by finishing top before the 8's start.

Without a doubt, we also have a good points for in the league so if we can get a few results at home in the super 8s I think we should be good for a home semi.

I'm sure that we won't forget how our season ended last year and that the Dragons may well need a win to stay in the top 8. Any idea that our last game of the regular season is a foregone conclusion is deluded IMO.

Finishing top BEFORE the super 8's is massive. It means Saints and Wigan come to Headingley in the 8's. It's the "easiest" route to the GF.

I agree we should never underestimate any side but you couldn't really have hand picked 2 games to finish the regular season.An average at best Salford and very poor travelling Catalans side.I reaslise both have something to play for but so do we.Play a full side in both, and get the job done.

This is maybe a bit O/T but does anyone know if this is the last game you can use the 'bring a friend for free' offer with the season ticket? I haven't used mine yet and remember the club making a thing that if we get the extra home game after that that is covered for free. From which point do season ticket holders have to get tickets for subsequent games? Thanks.

With Saints winning tonight Leeds will need to field a full side if they want to finish top going into the split.

Apart from Peacock I'm sure it will be. Tbh a prop foursome of Cuthbertson, Leuluai, Singleton and Garbutt should be able to hold their own. Although Peacock still does his incredible long stints, are form in the forwards this year hasn't been solely down to his superhuman efforts like previous years.

This game actually with Peacock missing is one of those that Singleton needs to step up in and show he can be a starter when Peacock retires. I'm going to be keeping a close eye on Singleton tomorrow night and I'm hoping for a big showing from him.

True, n the up side it puts warrington some way of the top 4, which would be good for us as we have struggled against them this season, and are tough on their day

If Cas avoid slipping up this weekend against Wakefield then next weekend Cas vs Warrington is a must win game for Wire. Can't afford to start the Top 8's six points behind Cas and with less home games to play.

All tough games really

The game versus Les Cats will be a tough physical battle, but hopefully played in the right manner. There were some unsavoury efforts from Some Salford players on our lads last night, particularly a couple from Paterson right in front of the North Stand. The 5 day turnaround may be advantageous to Saints who have 7 days to recover come semi final day, but Hetherington took an ethical stance regarding the schedule and chose not to rearrange the fixture, I've no complaints there. Another 2 points come a week Sunday would be a welcome tonic before possibly the hardest schedule we've ever faced in the Superleague era. I can't help wishing I could just fast forward the clock past the Catalans game and onto the semi with another 2 points in the bag and no more injury concerns.

Hmmm..if that's correct I agree! With this scenario I see a loss coming aganst Cats especially with the short turnaround for the semi.... it doesn't seem so imperative to finish top now.
