Ban

Shows one of the problems we have in our sport. That was perhaps the greatest game I've seen of any sport. Yet the main reaction seems to be negative attacks on individual players.

By people who have no idea how much effort, skill, guts and will to win those players all possessed today - on both teams.

Truly epic sporting event. Absolutely heartbroken though - there were tears. It's been a long time since I have felt as passionate about a game - and that was just watching on TV.

Said as much on the Widdop thread. Bluddy outstanding advert for the sport. Not sure who has been banned or why, but as stated here if anybody dare to criticise any of the team they must be extremely hard to please. I have nothing but the utmost admiration for all the contributors today in a sublime spectacle. It was such a shame for the England lads to lose.
If only the RL can kick on from this ... A World Cup which seems to have been a great success despite the cynics like me suggesting otherwise. (Nearly) culminating in a match that will live long in the memory.

Sinfield's best game for 78 minutes. Not sure why he didn't kick for touch at the end but saying that had Burgess not gone high it would be irrelevant. Did Hall fall over 25 out with the line clear? Cudjoe
had his worse game but other than that a superb effort by everyone of them. Great advert for RL

I agree with all this. Best England/GB match of the SL era? I'd say so.

Don't know what's gone on with the trolling but I'd like to chip in with regards to the game.

Today was the best game I've seen England play. It's not many games where, with a few seconds left and it feels like my heart was trying to escape my ribcage. We gave everything today and a performance to be proud of.

Maybe now there are certain posters who will now give our esteemed captain a bit of credit when he's on international duties.

Well done Kev and the rest of the lads, you did us proud, we are still the third best team in the world but the gulf between us and second seems a lot smaller after today.

Sinfield was immense today and anyone who suggested that he is not an international world class player is a fool.

A fantastic day out great atmosphere and so proud of our team.
Just watched the game on sky+ and thought it was even better than I thought at the match every man gave his absolute all plus just to add on that last play they had 4 on 3 overlap so Sinfield was damned if he did and damned if he didn't.
Just to add they should have had the Aussies v Fiji first because after 20 minutes most were walking out.

They did it that way round with the last Wembley double header. Large numbers of people just turned up in time for the England v Aus game.

I haven't really come down from that yet. It was everything that is great about Rugby League encapsulated in 80 minutes. A fabulous spectacle with a devastating ending. I got a text message from a friend afterwards that summed it up pretty well.

He's a Londoner with little or no knowledge or previous interest in Rugby League. He was only watching because it was on....he said "Mate, I've never been so enthralled by a game of League, incredible, some real skill, changed my opinion a bit. Sam Burgess is a machine, Graham is delightfully loose cannon, Widdop is pretty clever, Watkins is class, needed involving more, and Sinfield was great despite the missed tackle"

Here's hoping a few more non-fans were watching and saw the sport for what it really can be. As an advert for this sport, you wont get much better than that.

I've not seen anything of the game yet,but some of the threads on FB about Sinfield is downright character assassination,but then again it could have been predicted win or lose.I enjoyed my visit back home and the lads on our row in north stand who only sat down for 10 minutes before they apologetically took their leave to go to the loo and were too embarrassed to come back.I for one didn't mind them having a well behaved drink.I would have gladly let them back in.It was good to see such good crowds and atmosphere
