Stuck in Newcastle tonight struggling to find somewhere to watch the game!

Does anyone know of anywhere? City centre or outskirts not bothered!

Given the amount of bars and sports bar in Newcastle I think you should be able to find one

Osborne Road's usually your best bet - Spy bar might show the game if you ask them, but it'll be packed with students - there's also the Lonsdale next to West Jesmond Metro, they've got a few TVs and 2 sky boxes, so they'll definitely show it if you ask (ask for Brian or Geoff!)

If you don't want to venture out to Jesmond, the Thistle hotel near the central station might have it on - watched the Grand Final in there in '08

When I lived in Newcastle no-one had ever heard of rugby league, the two local newspapers didn't carry the results and the regional editions of the national newspapers didn't either.

Mind you, they didn't carry the results of Sunderland FC's games either ...

This just happened in Yates, they're showing ss1 at the min with Ryder cup on, I asked if they had rl game on tonight and the guy hadn't heard of rhinos or Wigan got him to bring TV guide so he could see what it was!

I feel dirty even suggesting this, but does Newcastle (or anywhere these days) have a Walkabout? Prevalence of Aussie bar staff gives you a sporting chance of a sympathetic ear for your request....
