I can't believe yer surprised although i did chuckle at Clarkes "stats" that showed in his opinion 7 50/50's went our way yet only 3 50/50's went theirs plenty about Mags on Anderson and JP not square on our line yet zilch about Fakirs double whammy in 2 minutes or the numerous french not square hands in at the ptb etc etc.

I know it's great. By the nature of 50/50 calls the stats say we got 2 more 50/50 calls then probability would suggest, we must be the biggest cheats then .

Its not just Boots n All and the Sky guys. Most of the RL community and media (and even 1 or 2 Leeds fan themselves) don't want to see Leeds win the title again. I can understand it to an extent as when I watch other sports seeing a certain team or player win title after title can leave you wishing for someone different winning after a while. But its the sheer desperation and hope that we lose that I find quite pitiful. I remember last year when we reached the GF, people said they were tired of seeing Leeds in the final because it was our 4th in 5 years, yet strangely no complaints about Saints reaching their 6th on the trot. Same thing this year, haven't heard no one upset about Saints' chances of another GF, whilst some people are almost praying not to see Leeds at Old Trafford again.

I think it's more to do with you finishing 5th than being in the final again.

I am fast becoming of the belief that 5th spot was engineered from the start of the season.

With the current play-off system you can put in minimal effort through the season and with a decent enough squad, only have to play well in one game all season to get to the final.

IMO BMcD is simply playing the system.

Cullen wasn't on. It was Hemmings, Carney and Stephenson in the studio (looked like it had been a heavy night) with Hemmings as ever pretending Clarke was stood just over there (conveniently out of shot) you know just over there by the stats wall. It still cracks me up every time they do the 'over to Phil' routine and Clarkey stops praying (presumably to the rugby gods - prayers answered this week) and smirks 'thanks Eddie.' Never gets old that one.

Having read some of these comments first I was frankly a little disappointed by the show which I didn't think was half as bad as was being made out on here. They had a feature on Shaun Lunt and had McDermott mumbling on about something or other.

I think Phil Clarkes and Stevos comments were ill advised to say the least,especially the remarks about us getting the majority of fifty fifty calls.He is one step away from accusing the referee from cheating . Some matches you get some decisions, other times you don't, we got some harsh calls at the cc final against Wigan and some favorable ones in the Wigan cc semi- final. Take it on the chin and move on. What concerns me ahead of Fridays game is the poisonous atmosphere coming from the Wigan camp and various people on sky,who obviously want a Wigan Wire final, I don't give a tinkers cuss about them,so long as the best teams get there. Some times coaches bleating on about decisions going against them hide their incompetence,step forward and take a bow Mr Henderson after your two shots at at Tackling Ryan Bailey. Pehraps Phil Clarke should reveiw the play on sky. He could say it was not fair on Baileys part in not letting him have a third go.

The 50:50 stat I think is a new one and it would have been useful to hear the parametres used to determine what ends up in that particular category.

The show featured two of the ten and I would agree with Clarke's assessment on both, Burrow's pass to Jones-Buchanan in the build-up to the Lunt try never looked forward at any stage of the proceedings from live to the countless replays (Sky's and especially Stevo's approach has always been to create the impression of controversy when covering the sport even when it often doesn't exist - don't know why but they just always have IMO) and Peacock was never stood square - or if not square - you could have equally had offside at the PTB. Definite penalty opportunuty missed by Thaler. On that one Clarke said Peacock was lucky not to be sin-binned but without an active prior warning still in place that would have been a harsh call, IMO.

I've no idea on the other eight they were alluding to as we didn't get to see any further analysis. I'd have liked to see the other six Clarke/Opta one's that favoured Leeds to see if they were all as clear-cut as the one involving Peacock.

The Clarke comment I didn't care for though was his wish to see McGuire sin-binned for a head-high tackle. Is that option even available to the referee in that instance? I didn't think it was and if it isn't should he be allowed to infer that it was in that segment? Perhaps Clarke should book himself a spot on 'backchat' if he wants to make those type of comments rather than doing it during a supposed Stat Analysis.

Did he even mention the 2 Fakir challenges in as many minutes?

No because Catalan are out an their season is over. Im sure if they would have beaten you then that would have been the talk of the week.

Agree I was expecting something really bad and biased but didn't think it was too bad.
The 50/50 call was bizzare I think I recall him saying that the calls were just judged on clarkes opinion. I liked his reference to Worriors world!!

Hang on, we're talking about the stats from the Catalans v Leeds game aren't we?

The stats were being used to highlight the top 4 going into the semi finals and the Catalan are not involved in that thanks to us, so they were not really looked at

Perhaps they were two of the other six 50/50 calls that went in Leeds' favour, in somebodies subjective opinion.
