Mcguire put on twitter on saturday: 'Just had Physio knees feeling ok will know more Monday but I'm positive it's just a tweak! Thanks for the messages guys!' so he sounds positive that he should be alright. Lets hope, if the Wakefield game is anything to go by we're not as good a team without him.

It wouldn't be the first time that a player has 'felt positive' about an injury and ended up out for months, so we can't read too much into that. I do think he's more important to this team than a lot of people realise though, so it would be a big blow if he's missing.

You have no idea who he is or what he's capable of.

It's always sad too see any player injured, even more so when they miss out on big games. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Plus One, for the team its bad but for Danny its awful. A player has a short career and not that many chances at playing in the big finals.

Hope Danny has a quick recovery and gets plenty more chances to play in finals.

Big chance for Webb?

Hope not,he's becoming more and more of a liability for Leeds,the Wakefield game being the obvious one.

But when Webb had his back injury which kept him out of the GF, Lee Smith rose to the occasion. So let's hope we see the same again.

Sinfield and Burrow are the obvious partnership to run with, with Lunt starting hooker.

Of the bench Webb could offer a dimension, or we could run with 4 forwards on the bench which against Warringtons big pack wouldn't be a bad option.

Then with Bails playing more minutes at loose and the talent that is Stevie Ward, Leeds have more than a few options to consider.

Webb as a straight replacement seems the logical solution .
However, one he has not had enough game time recently. Two, tinkering with pivotal positions at this stage is risky and three, his form prior to his layoff was not so brilliant.
What might happen is Webb to FB and Hardaker back to LC.
This gives us the option of Webb chiming in to the line to create the miss out pass to the wing.
We will miss McGuires unpredicatability and even though he has lost his pace would have created more chances for his team.
Bad blow all round and might have tipped the game in their favour if it hadn`t already.

When did a full back become the obvious replacement for a half back?

Webb isn't a half back. He doesn't play like one, he doesn't have the skill set to be one.

Burrow and Ward should both be miles ahead of him.

From the semi final 17 i would move ward to 7, which would leave a spot on the bench up for grabs.

Sinfield at 6, Burrow at 7 and Lunt at 9.

Ward in for McGuire for me, simple as that.

Probably wasted in the back row, Ward has all the vision, guile and skill that a stand-off spot requires.

His big chance to come of age.

Didn`t Hardaker play half back at Fev or am I mistaken?
McGuire himself has covered FB before and I am sure there are others who have played HB and FB in their careers.

Ward in at HB, Webb on the bench. Absolute minimum disruption ideally. We certainly don't want to be shifting either Hardaker or consequently Ablett to accommodate Webb.

Why would hardaker be moved when we have a two time harry sunderland winning scrum half?

Unlucky.

On the positive side, that's one less stretcher to be deployed at Wembley this year.
