So let me get this straight, he signs a contract to play for Leeds and then gets all in a strop when Leeds won't let him play for another team ?

Did he take legal advice when he signed the contract ?

How old is Pitts now? We seem to have had him for ages but he hasn't seemed to have got a run in the team. Even when he has played well he hasn't always been selected for the next week. Mind second row is a strong position at the club

I can understand his frustration.

He's a lad who wants to play rugby. He wants to play for Leeds, but is realistic about where he is in the pecking order in a position where there is alot of long term, signed-up, traffic.

The loan option for players in similar positions (amor, ambler etc) gets them to show off their talents in Super League.

I'd rather see Pitts playing for Hull, than not seeing him play at all.

Given the fall out from the Pearson take over and sh## slinging aimed at Mrs H and her reign as chair-person i'd say it's more about the Club than Pitts himself.

Pitts was made a lot of promises when he signed for Leeds, based on development. Unfortunately, for him and the club McClennan changed his approach, and then we had a change in coach, which has stumped the development of the lad.

If we are not going to play him, and lets face it why oh why do we keep putting Kirke first, then why not let the lad go and play for another club to try and prove himself.

If he's in a strop them why doesn't he ask for a contract release/transfer ?

If you are so confident of your own abilities and feel that you're not getting the correct coaching or development and your loan to a specific club is denied then the next step is a chat with your manager and a request to move on, surely ?

What if he just wants the chance to develop and prove himself, but want's a career at Leeds? if he is not been played then the best course of action for him to do that and prove something is out on loan. What is the problem with that? it's not necessarily a strop.

The OP, whose sons are coached by Pitts, reckons he's unhappy. If Pitts is making this known to all & sundry it sounds like a strop to me.

I would have thought the obvious answer to that would be if you wont let me go on loan, then i must be pretty close to first team here, when do i get my chance and what do i need to keep it.

Im not sure how much you can blame the club when Pitts has been overtaken by the younger Clarkson, and a player who was primarily a centre in Delaney. Its not like we arent giving players a chance in the back row.

It's maybe not the club's fault that Clarkson and Delaney have emerged as perceived better options ... but it is the club's fault it considers the likes of Kirke are also a better option. If he is considered so unworthy then the least the club can do is allow him to ' kick on ' elsewhere ( if necessary allow a similar Amor like deal ).

I'm not blaming the club. I am blaming the promises made to Pitts when he signed, the fact that they were going to develop him into a prop due to the shortage we had coming through in that area. He was never going to be a prop in my eyes, but that's irrelevant because that is what he was told. McLennan was the coach at the time, and obviously he changed his mind on that development, and then a change of coach after has not helped the lad to develop his game, whilst signing a boat load of props anyway.

Therefore for me, his best course of action if he want's to get a new contract is to prove himself playing, and the only option he could have to do that is to go on loan.

Why does it always come down to been the players fault what these scenarios arise? Sometimes it's just too much competition or your face doesn't fit.

You are right, which brings us right back to point one - ask for a loan to another club if there's a problem with Hull or ask for a release and prove yourself somewhere else - or knuckle down and STFU.

It is possible that the club don't want him to leave because he's currently providing squad cover and competition for places. Unless we think every player currently outside the 19 man squad should be allowed to leave on loan?

I can also see why that would be frustrating for the player, but such is life.

Nothing much to see here IMO.

Perhaps GH is also a little fed up of Leeds providing players on loan to strengthen other SL clubs, that should instead be concentrating on developing their own youngsters?

22 year old having a bit of a hissy, I can understand that, I see it in my own daughters sometimes.
