Stand Off is a position that allows Sinfield to exert the control on the game that he is capable of. Playing Stand Off against France is one thing though, doing it against Australia or NZ is quite another.

it's great news for him - another cap and a start. however, i wonder if we'll get the best from him..legend that he is. it's a shame that in the modern game, and in particular the l/f role, players such as kev will struggle at the highest level to demonstrate their undoubted skills.

This chap has come on here, with an observation and conversation starter that none of us have ever thought of, just wanting a bit of a discussion as to whether Kev's attributes make him a better L/F or S/O, it's a new, un-discussed, interesting topic, he's got his point across incredibly articulately and clearly, not been at all ambiguous or irritating, furnished us with facts, figures, and expert analysis, and all you can do is ridicule him.

My honest thoughts are that Sinfield shouldnt be playing 6 for England. We have a young talent in Widdop that has ripped the NRL up this season which is a far superior competition. Sinfield is great club captain for Leeds but at 31 we need to be looking at the young talent. Also as a friendly we should be looking at the pivotal roles of Widdop, Chase and Roby used to playing with each other. I was impressed with Sinfield as a rotating hooker at least years 4 nations but there are better options at 6 and 13.
