I think we should sign Senior and Thomas from Crusaders for next season and then use them both from the bench but not put numbers or names on their backs so that opposition players and match officials are totally confused for several minutes each time we interchange them.

I think Senior and Thomas should walk around the perimeter of the pitch offering free cake to fans.

Thats another good idea, it would certainly tempt me back but not if the cake was only available to season ticket holders who had to queue for hours to get one slice per person.

How about building the new SS with cake?

Shocking waste of cake. People standing on it, getting all soggy when it rained. I shudder at the thought.

Why not build the stand out of hob nob biscuits? Much more durable than cake, not as sacred and, if they get wet it'll be just like dunking them, so everyone's a winner.

Cake good.

But enjoyment value watered down due to the fact that your packed in like sardines.

To enjoy good flowing cake, you need to have the room to get your elbow swing in full motion. I don't need the distraction of cheap-shotting some old bag, who's bascially sat on my knee, to put me off my ginger pud. Thank you.

Has any one of the guys in the know on here heard anything about the starting date of the building?has there been any announcement from the club saying when the last game will be before the start?Ive just been reading elswhere that the club may still be in an ongoing negosiations/battle with the council about the planning and what they are allowed to build.

The last I heard is the SS plans were turned down by the Planning Committee of the council, but that was around 6 weeks ago ...

The early proposal for a 10,000-capacity all-standing jobby (page 17) looks superb.

There are a load of additional pictures on there which are interesting, Headingley apparently captured in cherry blossom season on a day when a peculiar blue haze has descended:

Looks like the end is in sight of a long battle to get this through, interesting stuff, and clearly shows the club have been trying their hardest to build the best replacement they can.

Glad that adding my two penneth that the 6500 plan was way too small was of some use when added to 300 other comments and included in the process. On the other hand, some of the tripe quoted in the objections is baffling, and often blatently inaccurate.

Clearly even the 7400 plan is a significant compromise, and the club has a few subtle digs in there that they are not being allowed to build anything with commercial benefit. The 10000 capacity stand did indeed look awesome, but so did the clubs preferred scheme with executive boxes on page 21, but clearly planning were blocking this every step of the way.

Nevertheless, when completed the southstand experience is going to be significantly changed, access either via the new turnstile block on St Michaels Lane or from all other entry points as access to other parts of the stadium will be possible. The ability to mill about in the existing southstand carpark/concession area should feel far less claustrophobic.

I fully expect Leeds to charge a premium price for the privilege of occupying standing room in the new South Stand.

My guess is a fiver more than other standing areas elsewhere.

Indeed, any paying customer who wishes to pay the new higher price to use the new facilities is welcome to do so.

If the paying customer does not wish to pay a higher price then they can either look for a cheaper option within the ground, look for something else that in their view provides better value for money or choose to keep their money in their pocket and not attend at all.
