| A no-brainer with no one else looking to step up and lead the pack.
Just Bailey and Lauitiiti left now?

I think that's fairly unanimous on here. Lets hope Hetherington sees it that way

| Great news!
Would give Bailey 2 years, starting to show some good form after a few years of under performing, you can tell hes playing for a new contract!
Would get rid of Ali, as good as he can be on his day, he is nothing compared to his old self, rareley offloads anymore, seems to have lost his speed and is plagued with knee problems!

agree about Ali but depending on what new players are coming in I'd let Bailey go as well.
With Kylie staying one more year and Kirke then IF Griffin Is confirmed as well then I cannot see how Ambler,Amor,Pitts are going to progress as it's clear McDermott sees Kirke in his first choice 17 so props in the week in week on team will be Peacock,Kylie,Griffin,Kirke.
My personal choice would have been to get rid of Kirke and retain Bailey but I wouldn't want both.
I suppose it depends if Ambler,Amor,Pitts are prepared to wait yet another year to break into the 17 (given we will have at least 1 prop vacancy come 2013 with Kylie retiring) or whether any are going to be loaned out again

I would not give Bailey 2 months let alone 2 years - we need forwards who give go forward and hit in the tackle - Bailey offers neither of these.
On Peacock he lack of mobility is a real issue - he is starting to look very vulnerable in the defensive line - the exiles really had his number.

| Good news. I would have been happy if he had got a couple of years contract. Considering the serious injury he his returning from his form has been very good IMO.

Yup, we will wait and see about TMFMISL.
Save the biggest news for last for the media circus etc.

Ali should fit in well with Tadulala, Korkidas, Tony and Leo-Latu.
It's a good job they shifted Kevin Penny to fit Tadulala under the cap this season eh?

Not for me - I think Sal's bang on with his second point about Peacock's lateral mobility.
He'll still get you up and down the pitch but he's becoming more of a target defensively and not going to be get any more agile at this stage in his career.
I know he wants another crack at the Aussies having missed out last year, but I'm not convinced his body will cope with the short turnaround in the off-season. I can see the 2012 version of Jamie Peacock being as effective as the 2011 version of Keith Senior was.

| Maybe Andy but whichever version of Peacock we have he remains our most effective front rower. Until we can improve his supporting cast I see little logical reason not to keep him around.

Fair enough.
If he remains Leeds most effective front rower through 2012 and into 2013 I would suggest it has plenty to do with a lack of competition for that mantle.

| The ability to concede a penalty withing the opening 10 seconds of any given encounter should not be under-estimated or under-valued.

| I don't see it myself to be honest, I would guess that Peacocks tackle ratio is a lot better than most props in SL.
He's still recovering from a knee reconstruction and I don't think he's in terminal decline like Senior was/is.

Agree, and generally, lateral movement places more pressure etc on joints than back forward does.
