| kirke seems to have upped his game this week. 5 drives and 5 tackles this week. Kylie meters are lower than i expected. Most of the pack put a fair shift in regarding tackiling. Good effort JJB and JP

| Overall good stats from Leeds. We competed well except with our missed tackles and penalties and a lack of tackle busts.
Very good effort from JP and JJB as usual plus Delaney - Pish Poor go forward from our props except JP. Kirke & Lauitiiti just not good enough.
Interesting to note Cross still has the best metres per carry figure of our current 4 props + Burgess and the only one to average over 7m per carry! He also has a better average tackle per game than Kylie, Kirke or Burgess and of our 4 current first choice props only Kirke has given away fewer penalties per game!

| Tuson and Prescott only managed 8 carries between them. Leeds aren't the only team with workload issues in the pack. Not that Kirke deserved his new deal, mind.

| Again: our defence cannot carry Rob Burrow as an interchange forward against a decent team. (I know he's not defending the usual hooker role, but 1) Who is? 2) It confuses the team's shape). He either has to play at scrum-half or not at all.

Prescott went off injured after not long on, I think. He usually puts up pretty good numbers.

Didn't see it but in a team that you'd imagine were starved of possession overall and spent most of the game kicking off re-starts to the opposition.

| When Shirke hides from the hit ups he usually does an OK defensive stint. A new low this week from the lanky softcock.

| Mossop and Lima are doing most of the work for our props at the moment, both in superb form. As was said though, Prescott went off injured and is missing the Cas match tomorrow with it, he's had fitness tests before the last 3 or 4 matches as well.

Just to add some input... I vote not at all. (Shocking, I know)

| One of McGuire's misses in defence was dreadful - allowed a try to be scored by awful technique near to the line.

Was that the one where he jumped off the floor in what looked more like a celebratory hug than a tackle? Me and my mates were laughing at that one

What sort of minutes did he play? I don't recall him being on that long, and his defensive stats back that up. His usual pattern is poor workrate in attack good efficient defence.
Now I acknowledge that Kirke is not our finest player, and I wouldn't have renewed him, certainly not for 2 years, but I'm very much of playing a player to his strengths, which the coaching staff clearly think are defending. If the guy isn't effective carrying the ball, then this should be left to someone who is, and let the players focus more on doing what they are best at. I think one of the problems we have at Leeds is that now Biffa has left, we only have Peacock as a go forward prop.

| It does seem odd that McShane could end up being our first choice hooker next season and he isn't being picked (not injured is he?). Makes more sense to me as an interchange hooker. Not sure if Burrow is really working in this role - IIRC this is one out of the DP playbook. Perhaps Burrow is being shipped out at the end of the season

| I cant see how Amor couldn't be learning more and contributing more than Kirke at Leeds than he does at wakey! Surley Amor couldn't fook up anymore than some of the clowns have this season. If Amor doesn't get a game infront of Kirke next year things are far far worse than any off us dare imagine.

His missed tackle rate is a bit dodgy this week - not sure how it stacks up over the course of the season.

Judging by the scoreline it appears most of the Wakefield players were chasing shadows, so perhaps Amor deserves credit for laying a hand on a few even if they resulted in misses.
