Confirmed on Radio Leeds at 8 a.m that Webb has signed a 1 year extension.
Poor signing in my opinion as he has shown nothing this past year or two.

How far ahead is he talking about though?

Every time i've been told a signing/departure by this particular source it's been spot on and i was told Webb was going to Widnes.
Another 1 who has stayed too long imo ,great player on his day but injuries have taken their toll him.

Agree was good player but if true a poor decision in my opinion for Leeds.

Poor decision to exstend his contract,has been great but he's past it now.

I disagree, I think Webb is one of our better performers so far this season and a 1 year deal is about right IMO. Provides an opportunity to ease BJB or Smith or whoever into the full back role next season.

I think GH has probably felt the need to re-sign Webb for another year due to the injuries to BJB, Watkins and to a lesser extent Smith this year.
Neither Watkins nor BJB have shown any durability, so he probably sees it as too big of a risk to rely on these players staying fit.

And Hardaker can play there as well. For me there is plenty of good talent avalable at full back to justify retaining Webb.

Great news - such a quality player and can certainly give us another year.

Also heard Senior is definitely aiming to put on a Leeds shirt and play on the Headingley pitch again...... but might not be in the way you first think of...

There is worse/more past it players in our squad than Webb so I don't mind keeping him, presumably on a lesser contract.

I think Smith needs to develop himself as a centre now, the full back role seems to have passed him by. BJB to take the shirt from Webb in 2013 for me

BJB is 23/24 - if he isn't ready know he never will be.

Proof if it's needed that Brian Mc lives on a different planet.....he believes Brent Webb is a good passer of the ball!

And yet only has limited SL experience at full back.

How is he meant to get that experience if his route into the first team is blocked by a past it Kiwi?!

He's played more games there than Tomkins.

Good decision imo. Webb is a solid full back. Consistent under the high ball. Hardly makes massive blunders that can happen to full backs. His attack has faded but in a dominant team he can be a shining light. Full back has never been an issue for Leeds. The main contract decisions imo are Ali, Kylie and Senior. I also don't have much confidence in Burrow but he is under contract so looks like he'll be around next season.

My initial thought however if you watch our home game v Hull KR, every try came from a move instigated by Webb!

Having had more time to think about it ,IF Senior is to move on that leaves a pretty young looking outside back line so maybe that's the clubs thoughts of leaving a bit more experience out there especially if Delaney is BR bound and we haven't signed a new centre.
Btw i still think we should be moving on and letting Hardaker ,Smith and Bjb fight it out for the no1 shirt.
