Must admit, I made the comment on another thread, where someone said he'd had a good game. I said I never noticed him.
Those stats tell me why I never noticed him.

| Hauraki was excellent yesterday. He even made a cover tackle mopping up someone else's miss. There was his one needless penalty in front of the sticks but, that aside, an excellent display.
I'd still much rather see Clarkson selected mind.

| I have often seen the value of Ian Kirke as a no-frills player who I have presumed offers value for money.
However, if he's only going to make 4 carries and 9 tackles in a match where 2 other front-rowers are playing their 2nd match in 3 days, he'd have to be bloody cheap to be value for money.
People have quiet games from time to time, but how many 4 carry games is that now? I think my patience is pretty well exhausted now.
Hauraki's stats look a little more useful this week. I would like to see more of that improvement please!

'" 5 or 6 I reckon from memory.
Easy to find if anyone can stomach looking back through TVOCs threads. I can't. My head will explode.
As for his cheap-ness, I'd hope he's paying us for the privilege of playing.

| Great game by Bailey and I felt Hauraki had a good game too, if he plays like he did yesterday then he deserves a spot in the 17. He made some good runs, some big hits and try savers and he also put a beautiful cross field kick in!!!

| for all those bashing Kirke and demanding Clarkson in the team:
[urlhttp://www.superleague.co.uk/statistics_player.php?hs1=2011&hp1=2422&hs2=2011&hp2=3194&stat=tries&season=2010[/url
Clarkson's stats this season nearly identical to Kirke.
i'd like to see one more stat with those from yesterday's game-playing minutes. Bailey played about 60 minutes, so averaged one carry every 4 minutes. Kirke made 4 carries in I'd guestimate 15-20 minutes on the pitch, at about the same average per time. Without an account of how long someone was on the pitch you can't say they played harder/shirked more than anyone else.

| I thought all our front row was excellent yesterday. Bailey seems to be getting developing more of a props physique and seems to be improving his go forward.
I still think Burgess should be in before Kirke.
The stats from the backrow seem pretty poor.

Not a massive fan of his but the stats do look impressive. Think Delaney got top tackler though.
Good stats from the forwards who have not stood up for the last few weeks. Let's hope we can replicate our form against the top 4 teams

| Im not really suprised by JJB's stats he had a disruptive game, leaving the field twice, i must say watching the game game live i thought abbo had a better game than the stats suggest.
Delaney is a work horse he'll tackle all day, hes doing a decent job in the centre but i still think when we get bish and watkins back, he'll be very useful in the second row

| Said at the game that Hauraki was my MoM closely followed by Bailey. He made a big difference and runs a lovely line. IMO his attack has never been in question and hasnt really had a bad game with ball in hand this year. It's his defence that lets him down in general. He has the potential to be a very good player for us though.

Easier to scan across the spreadsheet though so:
2011 Forwards (excluding hooker) with 4 or less carries by game:
Round 1 - Bradford (N) - Kirke
Round 3 - Harlequins (H) - Pitts
Round 4 - Warrington (A) - Kirke
Round 9 - Hull KR (A) - Hauraki
Round 10 - Huddersfield (H) - Kirke
Round 17 - Hull KR (H) - Kirke
While I accept it appears that 4 is the trigger number, if you increase the bar to 6 or less you could add:
Round 1 - Bradford (N) - Pitts
Round 2 - Hull (A) - Clarkson
Round 3 - Harlequins (H) - Cross
Round 4 - Warrington (A) - Ablett, Clarkson
Round 8 - Wigan (H) - Clarkson
Round 10 - Huddersfield (H) - Cross
Round 12 - Crusaders (H) - Bailey
Round 14 - Les Catalans (H) - Pitts
Round 15 - Warrington (H) - Leuluai

As nice a line as he ran, I think even he looked a little surprised that nobody laid more than a pinky on him for his try. Worst defence I've seen since the Halifax v Bradford cup match.

Not having a go at you TVOC as you are just providing the info as requested. But taking just one stat in islolation is pointless. Without the full stats you cannot form a judgement on a performance (or lack of) For instance if a forward made just 4 carries but also makes 30 tackles you cannot say he was lazy.
A very important stat is the exact time on the field as without this you cannot fairly access a players work rate. eg in the away game against Bradford compare these 3 forwards performances.
Kirke made 7 carries (41m at 5.86m per carry) plus 22 tackles and was on the field for 42 minutes so was physically effective 7 + 22 = 29 times in 42 mins ie once every 1.45 mins (105 secs)
Leuluai made 13 carries ( 83m at 6.38 per carry) plus 16 tackles and was on the field for 40 mins so was physically effective 13 + 16 = 29 times in 40 mins ie: once every 1.38 mins (98 secs)
Cross made 9 carries (90m at 9m per carry) plus 25 tackles and was on the field for 34 mins so was physically effective 9 + 25 = 34 times in 34 mins ie: once every 1 min (60 secs)
So Cross had easily the best work rate which was also the most effective.

Also, however, consider that this represents an unusually busy week for Kirke....
