| Given only 10,000 voted in the poll for the Exiles side, is there really a level of intrest for this game?

| I'd be very unlikely to travel for this, and to be honest I'll only watch it on TV if I can't think of anything else to do. I definitely won't be staying in specially for it.

| Looking forward to going. Should be a decent game and our group will enjoy sampling the various pubs in Headingley too. Not too bad price wise really. Hull kr + 20/20 sounds good too.

| I'd definitely be going if I'd not got a prior engagement. My only concern is us being deprived of some players for the SL game against KR on the sunday. Hopefully we'll have enough involved to get a postponement.

At the moment we only have Buderus and Kylie in the squad, I would be concerned if we couldn't challenge HKR at home without those two.

Peacock (as captain) will certainly be in the England 17. Sinfield and McGuire probably, Hall possibly, and Webb might be called up as a coach's pick for the Exiles.

Er.... England Squad?
Peacock? McGuire? Sinfield? Hall?
We couldn't challenge HKR without just Peacock & McGuire, so if I were you, I'd start getting concerned.

| What worries me is Hull KR have none in the Exiles squad, yet we'll be losing 3 or 4 to the England team and 2 to Exiles. 6 first teamers vs 1 for Hull Kr (fox) leaves us very short IMO

Fox won't be anywhere near the England squad, he can barely get into the Rovers first team.
I'd rather Leeds went ahead and played the game on the Sunday with players backing up if necessary. If you postpone it, you'll have to play three games in 10 days somewhere else down the line unless both clubs make an early exit from the Challenge Cup.

| JP and McGuire are[i Fresh[/i so they will back up. I Buderus doesn't need to with McShane having a fine season. If Sinfield is picked I doubt he will back up as McD has said this week that JJB and Sinfield are both carrying bumps and bruises.

| My thoughts on this exhibition game are mixed.
England really ought to be playing France in a proper international but France aren't good enough to provide the kind of test required so they've been ditched. It's a telling comment on the current state of international RL (particularly in the Northern Hemisphere) that we are reduced to staging an exhibition game instead of a bona fide international.
If we were still playing under the GB banner, I'd have a real problem with this exhibition match. As it's England, I don't really give a toss because England as an entity means absolutely nothing to me and possesses little to no viable or historical RL international currency.
Haven't decided whether I'm going yet but if I do it'll be to see Luke O'Donnell.
I like Luke O'Donnell.

Whilst i agree wholeheartedly with your 2nd sentence G ,i also think the Exiles will offer a much sterner test for England than any French ,Welsh or any other Northern Hemiphere team could and therefore i think it's harsh to dismiss it as an exhibition match.

It's an exhibition match because it's contrived and devoid of meaning, rather than because of the quality of player on show. It probably does have value for the England set up, so I'm not against it happening, I just can't get too excited about it.
