this guy is a joke. he is no better than he was a couple of years back. the ptb, from both teams, was a joke and totally unpoliced. neither team were square all night, and the JJB 'try' was the most blatant double movement you will ever see. his signals were shocking. he was terrible, bloody awful

I rarely comment negatively about referees but this chap is truly without a clue.

I suppose one positive was the limited number of penalties.

I was in line with Hauraki's pass to Webb in the build up to JJB's try, that looked a good yard forward.

There were times last night where it just looked like a heads or tails decision to see which way it went!

Well I will anyway. The in goal judge was right in front of JJB as he grounded the ball and said it was OK. I thought it was ok from my lofty perch at the back of the southstand too as his momentum never stopped and he seemed to bounce of the ground when he first hit it.

I was right in front of it in the Carnegie stand. No one else around me could believe it was given either. Most blatant double movement I've ever seen.

I was at the toilet but even my 9 year old said double movement when I got back

I was stood not far from JJBs try and I thought it was all one movement hence why the in goal judge gave it.

As for Terry Albert. Shocking performance all round. At least it was going both ways

If the body is still moving you can attempt to move your arm. Its only if momentum has stopped.

Agree with the rating of Alibert and it also played a part in Dissent from us rearing it's ugly head again.
I've said it before whilst Stewart Cummins is robbing a living the standards will not improve and the inconsistancies will contue and increase in some cases imo.

At least Leeds almost always get the two points when he's in charge, which at the end of the day is the only true test of a referee's impartiality and ability.

I thought he was as awful in the WCC tbf. He cant control the ruck at this level and games can get a bit scrappy in parts.

Indeed. He was rubbish yesterday though. I actually thought JJB's try was legitimate, I thought he bounced rather than made a second effort forward. Some of the other decisions, for both sides, were ridiculous though, as was the amount of times he got in the way of either attackers or defenders.

I didn't mind the ref to be honest. He kept the game open. Leeds-Salford was never going to be a classic. Meh.

Did anyone else get exasperated at the amount of times he indicated the ball had gone backwards...?
As for the Jones-Buchanan try it looked like he lifted the ball carrying arm after it hit the ground while the tackler was still attached... is that not the defination of a double movement..?

At full speed it looked like it was momentum that carried him over the line but the couple of time they showed the reply on the big screen he does seem push himself forward after the initial tackle.

I take your comments on board, and it leads me to think if the video ref was to adjudicate on the try it would not have been allowed. That said the in goal assistant to the ref was very close to the incident and he said try, so it was a good.

It was a try. His forward momentum didnt stop until he grounded the ball.
