| A good showing with all injuries considered IMO tonight. Just what we needed. On the up from now on? Or are we going to suffer in some more tough games ahead?I'm confident, well sort of. Are you?

| Much improved all round last night but tougher tests are ahead of us.
On the up side the passes stuck ,good metres were made , the whole Pack got stuck in and the "leaders" within the group are doing their bit and not just relying on Sinfield ala the Quinns and Wire games.
It will no doubt be good for the confidence and team morale but they have to replicate the good that they did ,build on it and improve and hopefully they will.

| They showed heart last night after going behind. The main thing for me after 15 mins of p*ssing about trying to off loads etc after 2 passes they went back to basics - completing sets and putting pressure on, and what a difference that made.
Impressed with Singleton, might not see much of him again this season, but the lad got stuck in

| Are we back? Or do you mean, "now that Saints have been thumped by Quins at home maybe we can stop flagellating ourselves over a defeat"?
Teams need a settled side at the start of the season. I think you can absorb injuries mid season better than at the start. If you lose a lot of players early on and can't get any confidence or pattern it carries right throught the year. We have had bad injury problems at times in other seasons, but until last year we always had a chance to get into our stride first. Teams need to settle and get a pattern early on, once you're in a bit of a groove it's easier to bring guys in and lift them up to the team level.
I think this year is as bad as last in that respect and we are going to struggle. Even if we had been relatively stable for the first 4-6 weeks it would have been enough I think to make for a good season, but we will struggle this year with pattern and consistancy. It's also bad luck on a new coach who will be criticised (sometimes unfairly) because we don't show a settled playing pattern.
The original question? I think we will see yoyo performances and results for quite some time.

| Good to see Leeds only concede two tries, with so many first choice forwards out. But it was Salford. Next week will be a better test, irrespective of how Saints played last night.

| Are we back?
Too early to say, look at Hull FC game then look at the week after. Morale boost? Yes, the way we shipped the ball around in those last 20 minutes was something else. We just have to be careful how we start as the opening 20 minutes we looked very nervous and a hot team will exploit the weakness

That can't be right. Surely Leeds will now go unbeaten for the remainder of the season after beating a rudderless Salford.

| Are you back... not yet I would say. I think if Wakey weren't in the trouble they are/were then Salford would be winless this year but I think you guys will click later on in the season though I don't rate McDermott (though he is Wayne Bennett compared to McRae and the jokers coaching Salford)
Salford are clueless, unfit and poorly coached with a terrible defence - i just didn't realise it had got so bad that we are capable of getting smacked nearly 50 points off a team with no props, even if it is Leeds with the top players you still have your side even with the injuries

I really wouldn't get too carried away, you were playing a very very defensively shocking team. You did a good job on us in the second half don't get me wrong, but feka gifted you two tries in the first half when I thought we should have gone in ahead. Then in the second half you won't come up against any other team who will defend like that, I've said it on our board as well, but in my honest opinion (not that it counts for anything) i think any other team in the league would have beat you last night. Don't take it the wrong way maybe you would have upped your game if needed, but we were truly awful in defence.
Thought Sinfield was magic last night btw.

Forget about whether we're back or not. It's sport. We will lose a few before the end of the season as will every other team. It was good to see us get back to driving the ball in without trying to offload every play... even if it did take 20 mins. I have no problem with us throwing the ball about but it has to be in the right areas. There's nothing good that can come out of us playing around inside our own 20 when there is a flat defensive line in front of us.
As for us defensively, we still looked weak in parts and I though Gibson ran rings around Senior in the 1st half. Had it not been for 2 outstanding 1 on 1 tackles by Kallum we would have conceded 22/24 points tonight again.

| If Webb and Sinfield continue to play like they did last night then you won't be far away. Quite a result when you think of the players you had missing. I didn't think Salford were all that bad either, their defence & tackling leaved a lot to desire but they aren't the poorest side in the league by any stretch.
