RU really doesn't suit those "Jason Robinson" style players does it!! "Jason Robinson" style players always come back with their tail between their legs. In fact... I can't think of a single "Jason Robinson" style player who's ever gone on to do anything in RU. Can anybody think of a "Jason Robinson" style player that's gone on to win the RU World Cup? or a "Jason Robinson" style player that's even gone on to represent England RU?

Jason Robinson himself has done okay, but can't think of any Jason Robinson "style" players (eg. Gareth Raynor) who have done anything.

Finishes in May, starts again late August/September.

And, other than in appearance, Jason Robinson and Kyle Eastmond are nothing alike.

There has been no official news from Saints yet about Kyle's decision. It will be known this week at some time though as Kyle himself has said so.

If he goes at the end of the season then either we will buy someone to replace him or one of our three other halfbacks will step up. So long as Leon remains at the club we will be fine. Leon is our key halfback. But his contract is also up for negotiation at present, although he has stated in the press that he would like to stay, if the price is right.

If he goes now then one or all of our other three halfbacks will have to step in until the position is filled long term.

As a Saints fan it would be a real shame to see him go from our club but it would also be a shame for RL to lose him because he is a talent. I don't think he's an organising halfback but he is a talented one nonetheless.

I'd think it would be vital. He's going to have to learn another sport from scratch. I can see that they would want him to be released early.

It would be a shame to see him played on the wing, and that's about all he will be able for if he doesn't get a good pre-season. FWIW I think he could do well, but he is going to have to face the Chev factor. Local Northern lad moves to the Westcountry away from all family and friends.

Ashton has done well partly because he started in a great team in a lesser league, and not that far away from his hometown. He was able to learn the game with relatively little pressure. I did laugh when hearing Jeremy Guscott talking about his tries on Saturday, saying that "you can't coach support play like that". Maybe not in Union, but it's a fundamental of League and Ashton will have been coached support on the inside shoulder from the day he started playing the game.
