As long as it doesn't clash with my wedding it'll be fine. Otherwise I'll have to politely decline the obvious invitation. It was after Will saw just how happy me and the Mrs-to-be are he decided now was the time to make an honest women of Kate. It's like I said to him during Polo last week... "Look Will, if you don't do it soon somebody else will have her!". Clearly he agreed.

The respectful thing to do in these times of austerity, given "we're all in it together" apparently, would be to have a quiet, private service at the Balmoral chapel - minimum fuss, minimum expense, give the pics away to Hello or OK or some other tabloid trash magazine for those who are geniunely interested in seeing what went on.

I suspect half of central London will be ground to a halt instead at massive taxpayer expense, sadly.

Of course the income & turnover to businesses throughout the UK will be huge, official and unofficial merchandise, increased visitor numbers from all over the world, new and temporary jobs, lots of newly increased VAT and corporation tax payments, hotels rooms full etc, etc. It has been proven that the Royal Family make us significantly more money than they cost us, several times over! I suspect that the huge cost of the wedding day itself will be dwarfed by the overall income and benefit to the tax payer, once again by several times over!
