I wouldn't purely on age with Eastwood being 23 while Ryan is 31.

I'd hope so too, as I reckon he could turn out to be one of our best signings, but if the lad is homesick we' re never going to keep him, so let's hope Garry has a plan!

With Webb, Lauititi and Mclennan at the club we have as good a chance of keeping hold of him as any other club in SL would. I would hope having those kiwi's around the place helps.

The Aussie media just won't let this Eastwood homesick rumour alone. If it eventually turns out to be true I hope Leeds go with what they've got rather than add anymore antipodeans to the playing rosta.

I'd rather have a 31 year old Andrew Ryan who wants to be here than a 23 year old Greg Eastwood who doesnt.

Greg certainly isn’t playing like he doesn’t want to be here. I personally couldn’t care less what happens off the pitch because a lot of sports people live troubled lives off them.

In football Ashley Cole is a fine example of someone who has a bad time (debatable but you get where I’m coming from) off the pitch with the divorce. Yet he performs excellent on it as far as I’m aware.

In Golf (Gents Only Ladies Forbidden) Tiger Woods led a lifestyle that’s frowned upon off the course. But on it he’s an absolute legend.

Hope this rumour is not true. No smoke without fire as they say. Greg could stop this episode dead in its tracks by simply saying yes its true or no its not.

Eastwood did an interview refuting the original claims a few weeks back as did GH.
His response to a question about how he had settled in was that he was feeling a little down because he hadn't been here long and was out with a broken wrist to which the paper completely turned it on it's head and declared he was homesick and wanted out.
However if he wants out then there's no point trying to keep an unhappy player although i hope it's bollox.

As good a pro as Ryan is (and i'm sure he could do a Furner type job for us) i'd prefer Eastwood,but as others have said if it was a choice between Ryan who wants to be here and Eastwood who doesn't (assuming there's some half truth in it) then i'd take Ryan.

Thats if I had to make a choice between the two. The other argument would be that if Eastwood doesn't want to be here,release him from his contract and stay with what we've got and we've got extra cash to spread amongst the squad at end of next season/give us even more flexibility on the SC given there will be so many out of contract stars at the end of 2011.

His dad was very vocal on a group on FB not so long ago. Saying pretty much the same things he has in that letter.

i'm sure the club could afford to fly some of his family over to keep him company and to help him settle in for a year or so

Let him go, no sense keeping an unhappy player eventually it will start to show in his performances. Just move on, we won before him and we'll win after him

I'm sure if he were that unhappy the club wouldn't threaten legal action and make an unhappy player stay who could cause all kinds of problems.
Like i posted before both he and the club issued a statement saying it was all BS.
Add to the fact that this same rag claimed DB was pining for Newcastle and would be back in Oz before the end of June and look what happened there.
If his heart wasn't in it i think it'd show on the field and make it almost impossible for Bluey to pick him.
