Quote ="AdmiralHanson"Would that be the incident right at the end where the less talented Gidley brother MOVES OFF THE MARK by stepping forward over a flat-out McGuire and then rolling the ball on to him ?'"
I agree totally. Gidley should have been penalised for moving at least a metre forward of the point of the tackle. Had he stayed where the tackle took place McGuitre wouldn't have "interfered".
Moving off the mark to obtain a quck ptb is something Saints over the years have developed into an art form & they nearly always seem to get away with it.
My other bugbear with them is a complete failure to be square at the ptb, especially if the FGB has been involved in the tackle. Silverwood penalised them for it once early on in the game then totally ignored even more blatant instances throughoutb the rest of the game.
We are not blameless in that regard but last night we did it much less than saints.
My seat in the Carnegie stand means that this offence is one of the easiest & most obvious to spot.
