I'd have said is what stands out is the argument of stats and watching games, which often comes up.
On those stats, Ablett is shocking and should lose his place next time around. In truth he was fantastic, and IMO man of the match. |

Maybe the truth of the matter is that we all see what we want to see.
Therefore, for Kirke some posters only see his errors, for Ablett they only see his successes to take just 2 players.
Or Sinfield's errors but not his tackling success rate. Also the poster above ignores Hall's offence while praising McGuire.

You are spot on there mate. We only have to look back to a thread on Friday to see that some posters have a view in their heads and won't budge from it, regardless of whether it is clear it is wrong.
To be honest most of us do it, me included. |

I think 'losing his place...' may be a little OTT but on the whole I agree with the point your trying to make.

Either way Warrington made the best part of 80 tackles fewer than Leeds and that's got to tell late in the game .... as it did.

The missed tackles continue, very unlike Leeds.
Did Morley play a normal stint in the game? His stats are very poor. Ben Harrison is going to be an awesome prop.
My favourite player did a decent stint it looks like, but low on mpc, probably due to the increased workload he took on when Peacock cried off.

That stat stood out as I updated the spreadsheet, so I went back to check that I'd picked up the correct figure and I had.
What did Bill Harrigan use to say, 'if it looks like a pig, sounds like a pig, it's a pig.'
Perhaps if someone has this week's trade papers they can confirm that those are the missed tackle counts recorded by Opta.
The 34 missed tackles (and 90% tackling efficiency) is Leeds' second worst this season. The game that topped that was Hull at Headingley (another winning performance) where 35 were missed at 88%.
Over the league season to date Leeds are averaging 24 missed at 93% |

Backs up my thoughts on Leeds that, together with a few injuries which most teams seem to be suffering, it's the attitude in defence that has cost you competition points.

It would be interesting to see how the other SL teams compare but unfortunately Opta have never been able to record a cumulative figure for missed tackles that makes any sense.
Going through the player's list is do-able except there will be some in there now that have missed tackles for more than one SL team (while on loan for example) either way I'm not up for it. |

And yet, I think most fans came away from that game thinking what a fantastic defensive display.
On another note. Is an offload counted as a missed tackle?
Warrington had an awful lot of those in the last 10 minutes. Could that have contributed to those stats? |

Yeah I was going to say maybe the majority of missed tackles came in the last 10 when they seemed to run through us at will. For the previous 70 though they never looked like breaking through with ball in hand. Saying that someone could fall off a tackle and that's counted but if 3 men are in the tackle in the 1st place you won't notice.
