I need to pick a Yorkie team to support and I used to go to London Broncos when they played at the Valley but I can't bring myself to support a team called Harlequins cos I hate Union.
Now I'm from western London suburbs and saw Iestyn Harris play in the late 90s in London for Leeds.
If I picked Leeds as my team would people think I was a gloryhunter? I just cant support any team in Red and Leeds have Chelsea colours.

Also there is the shared hatred of Man U and Lancashire.

Jesus Christ, the *last* reason to support Leeds is because they have Chelsea colours...

I'm going to do my homework by reading this site and keeping a low profile and learn whats what with Leeds. I'll probably get my son the replica shirt too, he's 3 but I'm trying to get him into football and rugby league, not union cos I cant stand the Barbour jacket brigade.

Hopefully we will win the season out and beat Manre to the Prem, LUFC get promoted (sorely missed in the Prem) and the Rhinos will get it together as the season wanes onward.

I think southstander.com only represents a minority of Leeds Rhinos supporters. You’ll get a mixed crowd on here that’s for sure. So don’t judge Leeds Rhinos on everything that gets said on here unless southstander is going to become your rugby league home for the next god knows how many years



Looks like your getting your son to support two very good teams and I’m not saying that in a bias way either. Both teams have very good times and very bad times. They won’t be an average moment supporting either of them I can guarantee that.

2: And secondly who has the hottiest looking players to drool over?

That should do it.

But if for some bizzare reason you are still at a crossroad you can always ask yourself the tiebreaker question:

Tiebreaker: Using the initials RB do they appear on squad member Number 16?

If you're a Chelsea fan you can't support Leeds* (the shared hatred of Man Utd is a modern myth - Chelsea have no historical rivalry with them, whereas Leeds' traditional rivals are Man Utd and, oh yeah, Chelsea)

Can't argue with anything in your post but.... I know Leeds St Johns was formed officially in 1870 but didn't the club start unofficially in 1865 and is that not the date the club uses as it's actual formation date?

This is exactly the criteria I used when I chose the club I now support.

Although as they’re not doing too well at the moment I may think about reapplying this criteria.
