We are scheduled to play Crusaders at home on sunday 20th of june.
Whilst you have a point there's still plenty of youngsters at Friday night games plus as we are a "dual" rugby stadium the Union team also play a part in when we play.

I don't think the comment that a lot of kids don't go on a Friday as it's past their bedtime is completely untrue. Especially at Leeds. There are always a load of kids their.

In my view, Friday night games work as they allow people to play/ref/coach over the weekend.

I like sunday pm games. However I am still off work for a week, but loved having a session and lunch in Headingley, then sitting in the sun for the match, then going out afterwards.
Sure beats wrapping up for friday night games!

I prefer Friday matches I must say but having said that 4 or 5 sunday matches a season would be nice. Lets say play the Crusader (which we are) and a few other lesser teams on a sunday as I think the lesser teams might bring more on a weekend. Then again i just loved a day in the sun topping the tan up

I prefer Fridays. Perfect end to the working week.

Not when you are rushing home from work to rush out again in time for the match.

fridays actually work out easier as I just go straight there from work from leeds rather than trekking back to soothill or Gildersome

Seeing as half of the clubs in SL are within 30 minutes drive from Leeds, I can't see it being that big a problem. Even if you go to Saints or Hull you get back 30/40 mins later than you would from a home game so is that really a huge problem. I'm sure many kids don't go to bed much before 10 on a Friday night either.

I can imagine that's probably correct for someone who is an out of townie Leeds supporter..

Believe me, I live not a million miles away from you, but in rush hour traffic on a friday night, I would not be able to get to Headingley in 30-40 mins!

I don't mind the rush home on a Friday, but i work 4 over 7 day shifts so Sunday afternoons aren't always good. I also disliked them when I was playing youth rugby in the NCL because we were always late back from away games.

But what do people think of the Sunday 5:30pm kick offs that Sky moved a couple of games to last year? It gives the kids that play time to get home, It isn't a late finish for kids for school and would be a nice end to the weekend.

Sundays eveytime for me doing my 264 mile round trip was so much easier today than any Friday afternoon.

i prefer friday's because its end of week and a couple of pints after the game i really enjoy.

I completely agree with everything in the Times article, and could hardly have said it better.

Sunday afternoons are superior for a lot of reasons. Presumably the Rhinos think they can make more at the bar and from corporate packages on Friday night, but it's a bad deal for families and away support and pretty shortsighted regarding the future of the game.

Fridays for me everytime - anyway didn’t we achieve the highest average attendance by playing our games on Friday nights (tvoc)?

Can understand the arguments in favour of both Fridays and Sundays.

Personally I would prefer Sundays in the 'winter months' of Feb to april and September and Fridays in summer. The Times article talks about getting kids to play, well that should be play any sport and in my view there is more to play for a youngster on a summer Sunday afternoon eg cricket and I would prefer my lad to be playing any sport than watching.

I prefer Fridays if i'm honest. Couple of beers before & after the game.

I dont like Sunday games, dont know why, probably because they aren't the norm. Think we should throw a few more Saturday games in at HQ though.

Atmosphere is better on a friday night, sunday afternoon games dont match up

Friday nights are better, kicks the weekend with a bang. Few pints up Headingley, watch the game then go out afterwards, no better way to start the weekend. Yesterday felt like a cup game to me was a bit strange.

Don't frequent Headingley much now, but 20 odd of us had season tickets in the main stand for years. but when games started getting moved around everyone lost intrest, considering sky call the shots Leeds would play the majority of games Friday anyway so I suppose they should play the remainder on friday so everyone knows where they stand.
