The Newcastle Knights have approached Buderus about gaining an early release from his Leeds Rhinos contract, their club is in turmoil and they want him to lead the club whilst Kurt Gidley is out injured.

I wouldn't stand in his way if he asks for a release, Diskin, Sinfield and McShane can handle the hooking role.

Not really. We have 3 hookers at the moment, i'm sure we could cope with the two. You know, like we did last year.

Ive checked a few sites and all i can find is the current crisis the Knights are re-players being nicked for alleged drug offences.
I think if they do approach him it could prove a catch 22 for him especially as last year he ended the season as he started in the treatment room.
The club do have enough "depth" to off-set the loss although he does want to win a trophy at leeds so i'd be for whatever he decides i'd be happy enough go along with,on the other hand it would be a shame because he hasn't hit his SOO form or influence with us yet although we have seen glimpses of his undoubted quality.
Still too many if's and but's at the moment though.

No i dont think we should let him go at all, he is the best of his generation and is a fantastic role model for others.

He has offered very little? Up to getting injured last year he was Leeds best player. And so fair this year hasnt done alot wrong.

He was an unnecessary signing? Gives Leeds experience and added cover in the half backs if needed. His experience will also help bring on the likes of McShane.

So thats why i disagree. But to me you seem like your one of those that slags Buderus off at any opportunity just to make Diskin look better.

But if there is no certain evidence he has agreed to go back. Looks like he will be at Leeds till the end of the season.

When Bedsy got going last year he was our best player. Remember him at Edinburgh and he was outstanding. He has not had the best start to the season - But who has?

Buderus is a smart player, when Leeds hit their form watch Buderus absolutely rip the ruck area apart. Once the Leeds start playing like Leeds do - with the space he will get he will tear the ruck up and reap havoc in SL.

I think we can safely ignore Danny's prattling under his latest reincarnation as Blue n Amber.



We can't afford to loose a player of Buderus's ability, so I reckon GH wont spend too much time thinking about it.

In all honesty unless he's in our top 3 performers and Mcshane doesn't look like making the breakthrough(which i think he does btw) that's only time i'd even consider extending his stay and then it'd be on reduced deal in terms of $$.
We will need to give young Mcshane a go sometime soon and i wouldn't want to risk losing him or Disko for an extra yr out of Buderus.

He'll need Leeds to find some forwards capable of winning the collision and generating quick play the balls first. Whoever they are, they haven't managed it for the first five weeks of the season.
