| What do you lot think of the prices?
I think it's a bit steep for a friendly, not sure if I'll be coming, at £10 I would definitely be there.

| Haven't seen the prices. But anything over £3/4 is a complete joke for a friendly against a team like Bratfud. Rip off!

He’s only had one good season though. They give testimonials out like hot cakes these days.

| That's all well and good with the boxing day argument rhinoms, but this is for a player.
Would it not be better that the choice for people would be to go, rather than not? Therefore the prices would play a big part in that.

I see yer point but when you consider the regular entrance fees it's still discounted plus the stadium staff etc etc and all the behind the scenes costs etc.
It'd be great if it were only a tenner but there are good enough reasons imo why it isn't.

One good season ?
The reason next year is his testimonial year is that will be his tenth season for the club. Terry Newton's loss was Leeds gain ?
- Contrast that with fly-by-night wendyball players
- He's been form hooker in the competition on a number of occasions, not least the season he finally got the GB recognition he deserved.
- I bet, like many other players at the club, he's had other offers to go elsewhere and rejected them.
Yeah, it would be easy to be a mercenary and move from club to club every couple of years for a fat contract and the signing on fees. As Sinfield hinted at the end of the GF last year, there are plenty of players who forgoe the lucrative contracts with other teams, to stay part of the Rhinos structure and placing loyalty over financial gain. You can bet there are players at Leeds, who if the club was able to pay them within the salary cap / wages structure at Headingley, would get far more.
Maybe the testimonial is a chance for us (the fans) to 'reward' those players for their loyality and service to the club and maybe, in one lump sum towards the latter part of their careers, replace some or all of those funds that they haven't had in their pay packets up to now ?
If the Bradford fans don't want to come, then who cares what they do ? It's given them something else to moan about, rather than whinging about Crapnmara.

Didn't mean to cause an argument. I'll still be coming, I don't mind paying a bit extra, as a player I do quite like Diskin, plus it'll be my first chance to see Orford.
See you all there, hope its a good un.

| This is a case of diminishing returns if the average cost of entrance is approx £12 and the get 5,000 which seems to be the norm these days the revenue is £60,000 - if as some are suggesting they reduced the ticket cost by 50% they would have to get 10,000 to attend to achieve the same revenue - that simply will not happen.

| I couldn't agree more with the Admiral. If this were a testimonial to reward a flashy NRL superstar like Buderus with his 15th appearance for Leeds the fekkwitts would be out en mass.

| Has there been any word on whether there will be a testimonial shirt etc? I won't make it to the game I don't think, but I would like to support Disko's testimonial (unless it's a hideous shirt like Senior's was, in which case I'll give it a swerve).

| For me I would simply add £10 to the cost of the season ticket - the revenue going to beneficiary - and let all season ticket holders who care to attend in for free.
Players like Diskin who has been a very loyal servant to the club but not one of its top earners deserve a serious testimonial.
The donation should not be optional - if you want a season ticket then you make a donation end of

Surely if it's compulsory its not a donation?
To donate implies that you choose to give not that you have to give.
Ill-conceived idea.

I quite like that idea but I'm not convinced a lot our supporters would.I can just imagine what one of my friends would think as he feels he pays over the odds already.
