| He had a legendary moustache. He could have shown the Aussie squad a thing or two in their 'Mo-vember.
I remember a try he got against Springfield Borough in the JPS where he seemed to beat their entire team, twice.
And he got a fabulous late try in his last game (I think) against HKR to beat them, capping a comeback win.

| the guy was one of the best wingers to ever play for us, for some reason i remember him more than most of the australians who played for us and during the 80s he would be in my top 3 imports along with et and mark laurie (1st stint) who gave us good value for money and didnt come over for a fews months paid holiday !

I remember that game - if I remember rightly Leeds had been on top for the majority of the game, but went into the last 10 mins or so trailing, then Morris scored a great try right in the corner to give us a cracking win - I think he scored a hat trick in that game??
I also remember some bloke stood next to me being convinced it was "Steve Miller" (had obviously been listening to a bit of music on his way to the game.... ) and screaming "He's scored, Miller again" at the top of his voice, to much confusion all around. Mind you, it was the South Stand, so confusion was pretty much par for the course...

| He played in what I regard as one of the best leeds performances iv'e seen, The JPS semi v. Wigan, Wigan were full strength in their pomp, Crooks dislocated his shoulder early on, Tunks & Jackson brought their true class to the fore, Will always remember Peter Jacksons performance that day, was a masterclass out of posistion at stand off.

Don't think he scored but ran as you described and helped to set up tries for Schofield and Maskill if I remember correctly.

| Does anyone either have a link to a well known website with the game on or know where I can get a copy?
I remember watching the game on TV at the time, but haven't seen it since.

| The tires, IIRC correctly, were one from Medley in the first half that I'm a bit vague on and two in the second half, one from Schoey and one from Maskill.
Schoey's was a beautiful one man effort where his dazzling pace off the mark (which was phenomenal in his early days) took him through the line, then he stood up Steve Hampson with a superb sidestep. Hampson was left clutching thin air.
Maskill's was made initially by Schoey. He ran in an arc around Kevin Iro, who managed to grab his collar. As he was dragging Schoey over, Garry managed to offload to Steve Morris, who ran infield until he got to a couple of Wigan defenders. At this point he made a basketball style pass over their heads, straight into the arms of an onrushing Colin Maskill, who went onto score.

It's a bit more complicated than that. A tragic story now used to publicise abuse of young sprtsman by people who shouldn't ever be allowed near them.

| Recently joined the forum and couldn't resist posting in this thread. The game in question was at Burnden Park, Bolton. It was televised by the BBC with Ray French and Alex Murphy commentating. Apart from Schoey's brilliance in the second half, the tackle that Marty Gurr pulled off on Henderson Gill down the touchline was class.
Kevin Iro certainley got a lesson in classy centre play from Schoey!
I have the game on VHS and I have recently converted it to DVD.

| I was at the game. I can be seen in the crowd somewhere on the BBC coverage (I still have the video also) in a stylish blue padded coat.
Favourite moment was Dave Heron making a break from the base of the scrum, then head butting Andy Gregory at the PTB. Or was it Paul Medley smashing Andy Gregory 5 yards backwards in one of his (then) trademark big hits? You see a theme here.

Aye superb game, was there as well. Still have video, just need to convert to DVD. Watched video a few month ago. Classic line from Ray French re boots, "They seem to wear carpet slippers these days..."

I too can be spotted on the coverage, right in the middle of the Leeds fans that the beeb kept showing. I am waving a scarf like a skipping roap above my head.
