| A quick burst of scoring by the Aussies at some point in the first 50 minutes to end it as a contest, fizzling out to something like 34-14 in the end.

| I think the England forwards are capable of matching the Ozzies but we don't have a world class hooker or the backs to finish it off. As much as I don't want to see it I think Austrailia by about twenty points.

| nah nah, i genuinly think we may be able to pull off an upset here.
In recent history games at jjb between the sides have been very close and never much in the 2 sides.
If we get a bit of luck and show plenty of grit and determination i think we could turn them over, also hopefully it will poor it down with rain to slow their ball handling and backline down a bit.
At the end of the day yes Australia are probably streets ahead of us and have far more talent in their team but they are not supermen and can be beaten.

| The forwards - excluding hooker - can stand up and make it a contest.
the backs however, the gap is ridiculous!

I would never entirely rule out an England win. Upsets happen and we're no further behind Aus on paper than Salford are behind Leeds, much as people like to imagine that we are.
The trouble is that I don't really see us beating Aus when it really os, any more than I see Salford beating us in, say, a play-off match.

Yeah if its a dry day and the Aussies are able to throw the ball about a bit we're gonna struggle.
Even JP has come out and said he is relying on the weather.

I don't think weather matters too much. They have the basic skills required as well. Do we have centres that can pass accurately to their winger?
Another point is hooker, I've not been too impressed with what I've seen from Moore. Is he a starting hooker? We could do with someone, dare I say it? More Diskin like?! Strong and steady consistantly. Moore, to me, still looks like another Roby type. Australia have one set hooker for the game and I think that would work better

Yeah does anyone know when the team is named?
I wouldnt be suprised if he dropped Moore and started with Roby and bring Crabtree onto the bench.

As always a try right on half time will kill us off and they'll run away with it in the last 20.

| The cynic says an England win engineered by Sheens. I base this of course on the assumption that Australia shall be confident of beating France my more than whatever score the Kiwis manage to win by.
A rampant Australia shall march to an emphatic lead, but then the gutsy , neversaydie English shall claw back and claw back, the Aussies shall rally, but England shall overhaul them, like Rocky and Appollo Creed the combatants shall both be on the canvas, exhausted by the battle, England shall climb bloody and dazed to their feet and the Aussies shall be counted out. England by two. Aaaaaadddrrrriiiiiaaaaaaannnnnnn.
That way the Ockers don't need to run the risk of being shown up in a showpiece final again by their neighbours.
Plus it gives all the glory boys something to get all excited about in the meanwhile and all this talk about England not being able to compete will be shown to be absolute piffle. Until the final. When England shall get spanked.
