There are currently no trams running through the city centre due to line upgrades. You can get a tram to Old Trafford from St Peters Square.

£2 return and there is no way of skipping payment now either as you need a ticket to get onto the platform.

Plus, the tram station at Old Trafford looks a lot different to last year's Final.

Since I'm driving, I was planning to park a bit further out (Trafford Centre maybe), I take it trams are OK for that? Couldn't see owt on their website.

There are no trams from the Trafford Centre. You'd need to get a bus to Stretford.

Aye, knew that, but I reasoned I could walk from the ground to Stretford if the trams are heaving and just get the shuttle bus back to Trafford Centre.

Road closures don't bother my bus.

Only a mile and a half according to Google maps. I walk 3 to work most mornings. Granted that's a pleasant walk through agricultural land to the edge of Coventry, but the distance doesn't worry me. If I'm likely to end up on bricks with my legs stolen that's another story!

At the Trafford Centre? Not all that likely.

Why not park at the Lowry Outlet place - its a much shorter walk over to the ground and when we have parked there never had a problem getting out. Only costs a few quid to park and you can get your ticket validated and money off the parking if you go into one of the shops/bars in the area.
