If he'd hurt his eye socket how did the headguard he wore yesterday offer any protection?

It didn't look to offer protection to that area from a blow from any direction that I could make out.

Must have been tight round his chin , he didn't seem to do much talking to the referee last night .

It was obviously affecting him as he took it off to kick afte the first couple of attempts.

The only thing I could think of was that it was on to make him feel more confident (even if it offered no material benefit regarding his injury) - but you're right - I'd imagine he found it irritating as he's not used to them.

He's got a lovely shiny helmet.

After he'd taken the goal kicks and putting the scrum cap back on it had extra padding for the right side of his face on the cheek/eye socket.

I'll buy it off him.

Dont know about the helmet but whatever he was wearing he was still shockingly poor.

Some of his decision making is borderline inept, he invites pressure.

He didn't play as well as he usually did. This happens to every player. I think the scrum cap affected him tbh
