Just wanted to say, rather than stand in the absolute slum that is Salford City Reds stadium with a bunch of drunken scumbags I decided that whilst in the area I would pop into the Sixways stadium.

Leeds to be fair were garbage and Worcester kicked everything but hey the ground and the supporters were very good, no foul and abusive language and some nice facilities.

Its now clear to see when you compare the two why Rugby Union is growing in popularity, as a father I know which enviroment I would feel more comfortable in with the children, it really does put Rugby League into perspective.

I have to say that unfortunately I agree with you, my visits to Leeds and Newcastle home games have resulted in similar experiences to yours, its like rugby league used to be and its only when you see that that you realise how far we've slipped in providing this "family atmosphere" that the RFL likes to promote.

Its nothing to do with the clubs specifically, more the people who go to RL games.

I may be slightly misquoting ex Leeds wing Jim Fallen here but when he was asked the main difference between league and union he said something like ' I am not called a f&$$ing so and so' by union spectators@'




But who's to say if Leeds Carnegie really took off and started getting 10k plus support that they would'nt get the chav element jumping on the bandwagon?
