It was 86-87 if I remember rightly.

ET's first season with us.

It was on 16 November 1986 and 6993 were there to see the horror show.

It spelled the end of Peter Fox - even though he won two of four subsequent matches in charge including the last two.

I was just about to say that at the end of the DVD(for just a few seconds) it shows a mini pitch invasion by the leeds fans this must have been against Peter Fox.I think this must have been the game and date. You have put my mind at rest. Thanks

I have the same clippings somewhere. I know nobody will believe this but all Warringtons first half tries were from blatant forward passes. All the ones in the second half were all Ian Wilkinson's fault.
So if you take out Ian Wilkinson and get a ref with spectacles then it would have been a Leeds win.

I was going to blame Beaumont (old habits die hard) but I didn't have the heart to in the end.

Just before my time, but I remember in those days a couple of things must have made Fox's experience a bit unnerving. Back then, he'd have had to walk along the North Stand touchline to get to the old dressing rooms, no quick escape up the tunnel back then, and in those days, fans used to run onto the pitch at the end of the game.

I think by half time me and my South Stand buddies had all decided we were watching American Football (I seem to recall a scoring pass from Tamati in the corner where the scoreboard end meets the South Stand looking like John Elway had thrown it).

We were awful in the second half though (I think those who think Richie Mathers is a "turnstile" would be gobsmacked to watch Wilkinson - or worse - Mark Conway at fullback)
