needing a tonic having read this board, I decided to review the 2008 year and grand final dvd. One thing that stood out was the number of forages and try assists Bailey was involved in and of course the greater fluency the team played with, speed of play the ball,numbers in support when attacking or solid defence. As a long time admirer of Bailey and some of the graft he does (unsung) I wondered what others thought because its being said we are short of props but we are Bailey & Kirke down Bluey surely could not have forseen this.

You can put that as Bailry, Kirke and Eastwood. Then get back behind your parapet and wait for the fireworks to start.

We have props but they are young and inexperienced. But i hear that Kirke is coming back soon.

Bailey is a good player for mine.

in his book andrew johns says the most important tackler is the third man in as he controls the speed of the tackle and ruck. could be this is baileys job?

He has that one game every now and again where he is just awesome !! This season hull kr away for me!!

He is good enough, but it only seems to come in patches. His physical presence, with Burrow's heart, would be a world beater

There are those who think that the third man in the tackle is only there to steal the ball, slip in a sly punch, knee the tackled player, then run away - this much I've learned from reading threads on here about Mr Bailey.

I've heard a whisper we have enquired about the availability of Ryan Bailey.

Well I was been a bit mischievous,particulary regards Pitts and Amor but I do think Bailey has to pull his socks up or otherwise in a couple of years time yes he could well be behind Pitts and especially Amor who I think is going to be a cracker within the next couple of years.

Bailey has always looked the part,great physique etc but for mine he hardly ever plays to his fighting weight.

Games like Saints and Hull KR away are too far and inbetween.He should be putting performances in like that at least every 3-4 weeks not just once or twice a season.

Bailey adds a bit of 'mongrel' to the pack. That bit of edge and nastiness that any good pack needs. I think we've missed him these last few weeks and I would be sorry and surprised to see him go. His best years are still ahead of him - most props dont're really mature till their late 20's. A good coach would/should get some real value from him.

Bailey (and to a lesser extent Kirke) have been a big miss over the last couple of months. A second row of Ablett and JJB with Worrall on the bench is hardly the imposing physical presence you need when you're operating with just three front rowers in your 17.

Still hardly an imposing physical presence.

I don't disagree with the point you're making especially as recently it's seen JJB utilised as a part-time prop during the game.
