we will get to the Burrow no try for Webb being offside. Tonight in the Keighley v Dewsbury game kicker puts up kick, player who catches the ball is behind kicker, but immediatley passes to a player who was in front of the kicker with the kicker still behind the ball, play goes on and they score. Ref goes to VR who gives the try. Even the guys in the Sky box, inc Barrie saying it should have been no try. Inconsistent? Looking too hard? Too much scrutiny? Strange to say the least unless this is a rule I don't know about.
The difference to me would be that try was from a kick. Webb was offside at the play of the ball and made no attempt to get back onside. I didn't see the game tonight but was the player who was offside at the kick within 10 meters of the person who caught the ball? If not when the player caught the ball the rest of the attacking side become onside.
If the Webb try vs Bradford was allowed, why do teams not emply the tactic of keeping a player in front of the definsive line incase there is a break?
