Train to Burley Park station or Headingley - both well within walking distance, although Burley Park is closer. Plenty of buses go through Headingley as well, but as someone who doesn't know the city, there'd be no point telling you where the bus stops are!
It is really easy to walk to if you leave yourself plenty of time. If you're young and healthy, you may as well, its a safe, busy route and you can drop into a couple of pubs on the way

| Cheers guys. Last train back to Hull is 10.20, whats the chances of making it after the game? Seems a bit tight to me. Also are the trains to and from Burley Park or Headingley fairly regular and cheap?

| Leave early or drown your sorrows/celebrate after the result until the first train in the morning.

Train there will cost £1.50. Get a taxi after the game - about a fiver.

Train costs £1.50, if the guard comes round to ask for a ticket. If you get straight off the Hull train onto the Burley Park one, there's no need to go through the barriers at Leeds.
Saying that, it's the same price to either Leeds or Burley Park, so you might as well ask for a ticket to Burley Park, you can always get on/off at Leeds if you want.

| Bus wise, straight outside the station, look for the stand that the 18 or 18A leave from, both get you right to the ground. If you want to go in a couple of headingley boozers, go down the steps next to the taxi rank and get on the number one (it's a bendy bus). That'll drop you off between the Oak and the Skyrack.
The 18 & 18A drop is only 3 minutes walk from the Oak and Skyrack, too, only in the opposite direction to the ground.

Indeed, I have never known a guard to come round either.

| Of course, I should point out it is your responsibility to find the guard and pay for your fare, according to railway by-laws. However the chances of finding the guard on a packed commuter/rugby train out of Leeds in the 4 minutes it takes to get to Burley Park are somewhat remote, especially if you get on at the front of the train.

No. I've never seen them on any lines around here. Morley, my local station, is unstaffed and you just get on the train and wait for the guard.

you can buy tickets in morley now from staff on a morning during the rush hour. Batley has nothing though. Used to have to jump off at Cottingley when I worked near the Arlington. never paid once then as it was packed on a morning and packed on a night
