| The ones they'd showed on The Superleague Show looked pretty correct to me, too.
Escpecially the 'vonluntary taclke' call that lead to the Catalan's winnning try. The Cats defenders deliberately didn't touch him. It's the Cas player who made the error, not the ref.

| Typical of the country bumpkin mentality that comes through years of inter-breeding.
“If you don’t understand it – hit it with a stick”
Exactly the same reason why that McCloud bloke gave up on the place.

I'd agree with that bit. Sadly.
Ddin't see all the game but flicked between it and the tennis and you could tell from the crowd that this game meant alot to them - it'll have appealed to the xenophobic and chip on the shoulder mentalities of (some) of their supporters - and they were chelping and whining vociferously about everything.
I did see the penalty in question and it was dead set correct.
Cas have some really great supporters in my opinion, including most of those on RLFANS but some of their home support is pretty woeful with regards to not having a clue about the game and indulging in some pretty poor behaviour towards opposing fans and players.

As with 95% of ref decisions when viewed back – they are usually correct. As much as we moan about them from the terraces the ref’s don’t do that bad of a job.
From what I saw of the game there were members of the crowd that were more than adamant that every decision was blatantly incorrect which TBH I don’t really mind. But when the ref needs escorting off the pitch because of fears for his safety then that takes it way too far.

| Sat with a mate of mine now who is a ST holder at Cas, apparently it started when the Catalans players started goading the Cas fans after the game. Bottles & coins were thrown at the Dragons players but were also returned into the crowd by Tigers' stewards which further provoked the situation.

I watched the Catalans at Cas in 2006 and it wasn't always pleasant.
Invited to a pub pre and post match by a really great bunch of Cas fans but during the game the local kids were tedious and the clueless chelping at every decision embarrassing.
John_D will have been to all the Catalans games and IIRC he'd said Cas & Wakey were consistently the worst for getting abuse from morons.

One of the stewards has been sacked apparently on the spot after kicking a bottle back in to the crowd and hitting someone. There were a couple of the Dragons players who were goading but there's no excuse for some of our fans to throw bottles on the pitch at all.

Shenton yet again saw no ball at left centre. His better performances earlier this season were on the right.
If they aren't going to give him the ball they might as well let him go.

'" From what I've seen (which is only his games on Sky) I am not yet convinced Shenton would be an upgrade on any of our current right centres.
I think Atkins is a left centre and I don't think he's better than Old man Senior and I'd want Watkins to be 1st choice Leeds left centre when Senior retires.
So, unlike most Leeds fans, I don't see the desperate need to rush out and buy either of these two.

Based on Shenton's recent performances on the left Atkins might be the better option but I expect Leeds to position Watkins there post Senior.

More than he's seeing on Cas' left but less than he'd see on Leeds' left.

Come on, he was playing opposite a 36 year old second row forward recently returned from an injury lay off playing as an emergency centre.
What do you expect, miracles?

Croker did alright there against Leeds recently as well so he should be getting used to it by now.
If they don't give Shenton the ball there's not a lot he can do and he still nearly got his name on the scoresheet due to a recent SOO rep player fannying about.
G1's mate Owen was looking dangerous again until he was moved onto the wing.

| Was speaking to Terry Matterson after the game, and he mentioned that the penalty was the correct decision, but there was a knock-on by the dragons to give posession to Castleford.
He also said that he felt that they had enough chances to win the game, and blew them, thus why he is not complaining about the referee.

| he whinged about greenshields try. wanted the video ref used despite the try being the correct decision.
the referee let a hell of a lot of high tackles by the dragons go either unpunished or just a penalty. i was amazed nobody went in the bin

Pity about the close but correct 'no try' ruling when he lost control of the ball an inch short.
Shenton would have got that one.
