Just mentioned in passing on another thread, but did you know we're South Sydney's 'partner club' in the UK ?
Apart from the 'friendly' in Jacksonville the other year, what exactly are we getting out of it ?
Even Jordan Tansey went on loan to another Aussie club ....
For the same matter, what are Souths getting out of it ?
I recall in the 80s, with much fanfayre at the time, we had some sort of agreement with one of the French clubs ... Did Leeds assist with the development of French juniors ? Were we loaning our Colts players to get some decent experience in the French domestic leagues ? Er, no.
The bottom line is, if we're not getting anything out of the deal (both ways), then what is the point of having it ?

It could well be but IIRC at the time of the announcement it was made clear that it was more of a "marketing and buisness" partnership with training ideas and techniques exchanged rather than anything on a "player swap/signings basis. |
