I was chatting to my youngest earlier after watching the Wire game and she said that they looked a much better side since TS took charge and even went as far to say that if she could swap Smithy with Bluey she would.

Which got me wondering how many of you, at this very point in time, would trade Smith for Bluey?

I know we havnt been great this year and people have been pointing the finger towards Bluey. BUT Bluey won us the title in his first year and we played some superb rugby doing so. People forget we have a small squad and resources are limited for various reasons.

People also forget that the back end of the 2005 season was atrocious along with a terrible 2006 all under Tony Smith.

If your compairing to the 80's then yes good year. But were compairing to the present day not the 80s dipstick.

We made the CC final when in form. by time the final came around we were in bad form.

Our early season form took us well ahead in the league table - Only to throw it away as we never recovered from the CC final loss.

We played an injury riddened Saints side in the playoff game. Was easy. We then had a week off and still got spankned by Bulls in the final. The scoreline flattered Leeds that day.

True. You could very much compaire TS 2005 season with Blueys 2008 season.

They were very similar. Both coaches got Leeds of to a flier. Clear at the top only to have a dip in form towards the back end. Only difference was the 08 team managed to get on the right side of the scoreline at OT.

Tony smith is and will always be a legend but imo you can only go so far.
It was fantastic what he achieved and the style of play he had us playing was a joy to watch but he did take us as far as he could imo.
I think we have moved on in terms of players available and opposition against us so its unfair to compare the two there are plenty of pro's and con's for both.
