| Matt Diskin is contracted until the end of 2010 at present.
His existing deal was signed in 2006 though before Buderus was targetted.

| Do you think he'd be released at the end of this season then or is he a key part of your plans still?

| Depends on him been cheesed off with Buderus i imagine. I hope he stays and shares the role with McShane when Danny has vacated.

| Diskin reminds me of a horse that has run just one too many races, his distribution has always been average and his runs from dummy half are becoming infrequent - Leeds should listen to offers if there are any.
Buderus is another matter.

| Quote ="MrPhilb"Do you think he'd be released at the end of this season then or is he a key part of your plans still?'" depends on how mcshane comes along, and how buderus is going fitness wise
don't know about others, but when buderus comes off. i find myself asking why?
1)the difference in skill is miles apart, yet the styles are similar (so no roby/cunningham type use/advantage)
2)buderus played 80 mins most weeks in the nrl, so why do leeds think he can only manage half a game now
it may sound harsh on diskin, but i find it almost disappointing when he comes on, its almost as it he's getting on the bench because he use to be the main hooker. so leeds feel they have to give him something, rather then he deserves to be there.
but pro sport is all about the winning, which means that making changes is something thats going to happen, even if that means cutting homegrown players.

| In total fairness, i think Diskin isnt in the same league as Buderus, however, tonight Diskin was solid and did well in my opinion. The thing I would comment on about tonights game was Buderus' defence, i think its what set him apart from Diskin.

I agree,he looked a lot sharper and more interested tonight but buderus is head and shoulders above disko and he should be using this time to improve every facet of his game.
Young mcshane also looked good tonight in the reserve grade and if disko isn't careful and step up his consistency he'll be behind young macca aswell.

To be fair, can't you say that about pretty much every hooker in SL compared to Buderus?
It's amazing how much tackling he gets through. They are good solid hits too. And how much difference does a well paces accurate pass make?!

In what way is it helping us?
Yes, Buderus is a massive improvement on the Hooking position. But in what way is having the pair helping us?

| in terms of squad I think 3 hookers is over kill. The similaries between Diskin & Buderus mean that you don't get the impact from Diskin coming on, but you do get a consistent style throughout the game I guess.
I would go with another forward on the bench, but at the moment it does allow us to rest on forward each match, or account for an injury anywhere in the team.

| Buderus is different class to Diskin, but I thought Diskin was the better of the 2 against Hull, and he was excellent against Cas too.

Buderus only played the first 15, and last 10 I think. Picked up a bit of a back injury
