What is the point of the elite squad?
I fin it very surprising that the "elite squad" only has 17 players. Surely a squad is a group of players that trhe England coach will work with from which a final team is selected not the actual number of players in the final team!

The three quarter line up again is the achilles heel.
Out of five shirts to fill only 3 seem to hit the mark (Atkins, Briscoe, Shenton). There solid choices, but are they good enough? They are very slight, not a great deal of experience and aren't going to trouble the kiwis and ozzies greatly. And if those 3 are the elite? Oh dear. I feel this part of the team has the least quality and we will be exposed down the flanks again.
