| How close was it at the end? We kept it alive, Sinfield kept it alive it hit a Saints player then Peacock picked it up, ran, stopped, offloaded to Sinfield who got tackled, did Sinfield have any options? Would have been one of the the greatest games of all time.

Would it? Based on one move at the end of the game?
You've been listening to Eddie and Stevo too much.

Based on how a team comes back out of the dead 22-12 down, the 33-26 was one of my greatest games, and that was one try which took it to extra time. This one we needed two scores, and we didn't look anything like a team that could break Saints twice in two minutes, we'd only done it twice for 78 minutes.

| It was a great cover tackle by Gilmour to kill the game.

It would have been one of the greatest injustices.
Saints fully deserved thier win. No need to clutch at straws.

| Buderus had a ball over the top to McGuire and we had alot of men over on the left, if he'd found McGuire we had a very good chance.

He pulled a great effort out of the bag against Donald early doors, as well. Top effort.

| And to think Gilmore was rumoured to be heading our way around the middle of last season. What a lucky escape that was.

That was a magnificent tackle. I thought Gilmour was excellent in defence. I had my doubts pre-season about him as a centre, but on yesterday's showing he looked the part to me.

Gilmour smoothered Buderus as soon as he caught it. No chance of offloading.

Sweet pass by Peacock though. Had me worried for a few seconds.

Crying out for a right winger to appear effortlessly on his shoulder and finish the break then.
What's Alan Smith doing these days?

Still at Newcastle I think, but he made his first visit back to Elland Road for the MK Dons game t'other week.

Yes, that's the Alan Smith I was thinking about. Still good right winger though.

I'd have to disagree there. He can play there, sure, but I always felt he was more effective playing up top, alongside a target man such as Viduka.

He was a forward and he's definitely more prop shape than anything else, but it's more like your typical RU prop build than an RL one.

Short and squat in Alan Smith's days very similar to those in Union.

I have too agree I was still comfortable when it was Peacock breaking through. Had it off been Webb or Burrow I think Leeds would have scored to be honest.
