Thanks for this.
Where is the best place to park at Knowsley Road then? Are there any official car parks?

Where is the best place to park at Knowsley Road then? Are there any official car parks?'" A lot of areas off Knowsley Road and some of the surrounding roads have been having cones put out to stop people parking there - not that it works last week I saw 2 cars both parking inbetween the cones
Side streets off Dunriding Lane are still ok as far as I am aware, it is where we have parked and no problems yet. If you want a proper car park the best bet is to go to De Le Salle school which offers parking for about £5 ( Mill Brow, Eccleston, St Helens, WA10 4QH ) which is about a 5 minute walk away from the ground.

| They appear to be targeting the roads in the immediate vicinity of the ground, so suggest parking about 10-15 mins away and walking - Alder Hey Road is a good possibility - and pop into Greenhalls Club for a beer!
No official car park you can access w/o a permit I believe.

| If you come off the East Lancs Road, (A580) at Tescos, turn left there and then first right - this is called Bleak Hall Road. Stay on this road for about a mile and a half. The road then turns sharp right and there is a turning on the left - take that turning and you will pass the school on the left which charges a couple of quid to park but it can be a pain to get out of. If you pass the school, the ground is about three hundred yards further on. Turn your car round so you are ready for a quick getaway and park at the side of the road. the road is wide enough and shouldnt upset anyone. We have used this location for the past five visits and had no problem and also a quick getaway.

| You can imagine the property details for houses around KR; 'Getting There? Turn left at the great, big f***ing rugby ground that has been there for f***ing years'!
Deluge of 'distressed' residents? I've parked near KR on a number of occasions and have yet to see a driveway blocked. Busy? Of course. What do the 'distressed' residents expect? Perhaps the local authority should reflect on the way in which Saints put the town on the map?

| We just dump 'r mini-bus anywhere!!!! Near as possible will do. We don't pay to park, and we are considerate where we do park (i.e. not outside someone's drive). Those are the only rules we follow. I am guilty of p*ssing where we park though.

| So looking at that link to the star article, if you are not on a curb, blocking a driveway or on any form of a line what can they do?

Just standard procedure then. I've noticed a clamp down at Headingley this year, in realtion to sh*t parkers. Last week I saw 2 cars ticketed. One was parked over 75% of the foot-path and the other was parked with its back end hanging over a junction (from a minor road into a major road), both near train station. If you can't park, or can't be d to find a proper space (rather than creating one) you deserve a ticket. And maybe next time, I'll remove the ticket, so they won't be aware and will have to pay the larger fine.

Alder Hey Road is the best bet, esp. as the Greenall's club is a cracking place for a cheap but quality pint and there is the off chance you can get on the car park.
Problems on Alder Hey Road is deekheads who drive [iup[/i the road towards KR after match day when everyone is trying to get out the opposite way. I have never worked it out.

I live in Alder Hey Road. Have to agree with you about Greenalls (it's my local) and I always have to laugh at the cars going up AHR towards KR after the match when I am walking down back to Greenalls for an after-match pint.
By the way, I am not aware of any major complaints from residents. Think it is 'newspaper speak', or council's excuse for over-zealous 'parking police'.

Just a note in case anyone is SatNaving - it is Bleak HILL Road (WA10 postcode). Otherwise the directions are spot on. If you look out for a pub on your right then the 'sharp right' that is referred to above is shortly after that (and the left turn actually feels more like going straight on).
I'd agree that if you're street parking, watch out for bus stops, driveways and no parking on bends (people have been ticketed recently for that). Also, best not to bump up on the pavements, though it's tempting since some roads around the ground are very narrow. Technically, pavement parking is obstruction so I know that I [iwon't[/i be pavement parking this Friday!
No resident of Knowsley Road has any legitimacy when it comes to complaining about match nights. The ground has been there over 100 years when all that area was farmers fields. If they didn't want 12-14 nights of relative auto chaos then they shouldn't have moved there in the first place.
