Rules are strange, i thought as we were all part of the EU we would have the same rules on visa's. If Bird can play here why not Eastwood.

UK Immigration have said that it will be down to individual Boarder Cops (or whatever they're called) to decide whether he's allowed in to the UK for each game.
This makes it an odd signing for Catalans - they'll have to prepare for every single away game on the basis that Bird may or may not be available!!

The 25-year-old, who on Thursday flew in from France where he is playing for the Catalans rugby league team, had his one common assault charge upgraded to five charges but believes the evidence of three security guards and security video will clear him.
"Three security officers are able not only to give evidence, but to give evidence to the effect that he was the victim in this matter," his solicitor Patrick Conaghan told the court.

He's been refused a working visa to play in this country for a UK based team. I can't imagine they'll refuse him entry for a 36 hour visit with the Catalans, although it'd be p1ss funny if the border controls were manned by Bradford supporters - should they have any left by then. |
