little birdie will play leeds soon www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/s ... 66,00.html "We had hoped to fly him back in time for Sunday's game but it has not been possible.''
Bird is also due to return to Sydney for the court case, but Catalans expect him back from a pre-trial meeting and to be available when they host Bradford on March 21, Sky reported. They also planned to take him to Leeds six days later.
Bird made his debut for the Dragons as a 23rd-minute substitute in Saturday's 24-22 home loss to Castleford. The 25-year-old former Test representative drew praise for his performance from Catalans' Australian coach Kevin Walters after setting up a try in his first match for more than six months.

| Rules are strange, i thought as we were all part of the EU we would have the same rules on visa's. If Bird can play here why not Eastwood.

| to fredie Bird might be playing against Leeds if the border agency let him in to the country, to be on the safe side suggest he sneaks in on the underside of the Eurostar like other (alleged) illegal aliens

| UK Immigration have said that it will be down to individual Boarder Cops (or whatever they're called) to decide whether he's allowed in to the UK for each game.
This makes it an odd signing for Catalans - they'll have to prepare for every single away game on the basis that Bird may or may not be available!!

www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/s ... 21,00.html FORMER NRL star Greg Bird was "the victim" when he allegedly assaulted a young woman in a Cronulla nightclub, Sutherland Local Court heard yesterday.
The 25-year-old, who on Thursday flew in from France where he is playing for the Catalans rugby league team, had his one common assault charge upgraded to five charges but believes the evidence of three security guards and security video will clear him.
"Three security officers are able not only to give evidence, but to give evidence to the effect that he was the victim in this matter," his solicitor Patrick Conaghan told the court.

He's been refused a working visa to play in this country for a UK based team. I can't imagine they'll refuse him entry for a 36 hour visit with the Catalans, although it'd be p1ss funny if the border controls were manned by Bradford supporters - should they have any left by then.
