| Does anybody (tvoc?) know what Sinfield's kicking % success rate is?
He seems to me to be in the Botica class in terms of accuracy.

when I used to look at these things a few years back, be was in the 80% region over the course of several seasons. I would imagine with recent efforts he would have edged that up a couple of percentage points so maybe mid 80s

Brett Delaney's next Appearance will be his 100th for Leeds in All Comps - likewise his next start will be his 100th in All Comps as he has yet to be named on the substitutes bench.
He will become the 33rd player to do so with Leeds during the SL Era in terms of 100 Appearances and 26th player to do so in terms of Starts. If he starts in his next game though he will become only the 3rd Leeds player to make his first 100 Appearances without ever been named on the bench along the way to the landmark - following in the footsteps of Gareth Ellis and Scott Donald. Ellis made his first 106 appearances in the run-on side before starting a game from the bench while Donald played out his entire 145 game Leeds career without ever gracing the plastic seats/wooden benches at kick-off.
__________
The next try scored by a team facing Leeds will be the 2,000th Leeds have conceded during the SL Era.

I only started recording the kick success rate for Leeds in 2004 so these exclude the first 195 two pointers that Sinfield achieved.
These are the All Comp figures:
[size=150[code2004 - 152 from 190 - 80%
2005 - 149 from 189 - 79%
2006 - 105 from 125 - 84%
2007 - 139 from 170 - 82%
2008 - 137 from 180 - 76%
2009 - 121 from 157 - 77%
2010 - 121 from 145 - 83%
2011 - 160 from 197 - 81%
2012 - 168 from 207 - 81%
2013 - 37 from 38 - 97%
Total - 1289 from 1598 - 81%[/code[/size
No idea how they compare to other great kickers and Botica would certainly (IMO) be high up in that category.

| I apologise, mea culpa.
But why can we never score tries directly under the posts?
If we were somehow to also record degree of difficulty Sir Kev's figures would be even more impressive.

According to this year's handbook, he played 179+28 (207) for Bradford, and up to the start of this season he'd played 185+13 (19icon_cool.gif for Leeds. If he's played in all 10 games this year he has surpassed his Bulls total.

| IIRC Prior to the Bulls game JP had played 207 for the Bulls & 205 for us.
So he's now played more games for us than he did for the Bulls.
Waits with bated breath for tvoc to prove me wrong.

JP did indeed play 207 games for Bradford, but I reckon yesterday was only his 207th for Leeds.

Agreed.
Kirke's Leeds figures in All Comps reads:
Played 56 + 117 (+1 DNP), Tries 10, Points 40
Quote ="A-Fire-Inside"JP did indeed play 207 games for Bradford, but I reckon yesterday was only his 207th for Leeds.

I have last Sunday's appearance V Warrington as Peacock's 207th with Leeds, as I think we've discussed previously (probably via PM) If there is a discrepancy with the Leeds handbook total as referenced by gulfcoast_highwayman up to the end of 2012 I'm guessing it surrounds his non playing sub 'appearance' V Workington in the Challenge Cup tie at Headingley - 30th March 2007.
Extract from the YEP match report :
[iThe Super League side were able to give some of their fringe men and regular substitutes plenty of game time, try a few different combinations =#0000FFand had the luxury of leaving Great Britain skipper Jamie Peacock on the substitutes' bench throughout. Perhaps that was an opportunity missed to give some experience to one of their Academy prospects – front-rower Luke Burgess for example – but Rhinos coach Tony Smith showed respect to both the competition and the opposition by fielding a strong line-up. Kevin Sinfield is still on the move up the All-Time points table having ended Leeds' 2012 campaign in 10th - started the current season in 9th he's just surpassed Kel Coslett and moved into 6th - and can realistically expect to be 5th before the season end, injuries permitting.

Back at Leeds Sinfield requires 3 more two point goals to reach 1,500 for the club.
Danny McGuire's second try V Castleford took him level with his former half-back partner Rob Burrow as they now both share third spot on Leeds' SL Era points table in All Comps:

No chance on either of them surpassing Harris, they'd need over another 120 tries each. The race to reach the 1,000 mark first is on though, should take 22 tries (providing no goals are scored).....and think both will but i'll tip McGuire to get their first.

| Quick question.
In this year's handbook there is a list of those who have captained Leeds in major finals (which they count as CC, WCC, GF or CH, JPS, YC, PR and Floodlit). The list is however incomplete, as far as I can tell, as it doesn't include the captains of our 1987/88 JPS team or the 1988 YC. My best guess is Tunks for the first and Crooks for the latter. Am I right?

I agree with you and lionarmour87. Lee Crooks was definitely the Leeds captain at Elland Road when they picked up the Yorkshire Cup - despite one photo caption I recall at the time claiming 'Leeds skipper Garth Crooks.' I'm almost equally certain that Peter Tunks was installed as captain after his delayed arrival in '87 although I also recall Leeds handing the armband to Lee Crooks for Tunks' debut as Leeds faced Hull at Headingley in the opening round of the YC just a few months after his reluctant arrival at LS6 from the Boulevard.

I don't have such records but I imagine they would all feature somewhere close to the summit, probably with Gentleman Jim Brough sat at the top.
Another name I'd throw in from my own era would be Alan Smith who I think played his final game as a 39 year old - as a try-scorer on a wet Headingley afternoon V Widnes when he embarrassed one of the Myler clan watching the ball in the in-goal area as Smith pounced cat-like to score. A game I also remember for the inclusion of a few teenage prospects alongside the twenty-one season veteran - Leeds' only other try-scorer in the 10-5 win Mark Campbell and Des Armitage.
I was wondering how old the Jeffasaurus (Jeff Grayshon) might have been in his brief Leeds career but it turns out he was a mere 37 in his final game for the club - so alongside John Holmes in that regard.
