I was at the game and thought Senior was outstanding in many respects not least of which was his constant encouragement of the younger lads and his display of obvious leadership in as many ways as he could. I guess this is something that won't come through in any stats but I thought he really 'stood up' and lead both by example and by word of mouth.

You used this line last week about the reserve players that were selected after their heavy defeat to Wakefield.

You were shown to be way off the mark as those reserve players you felt weren't worthy of selection helped the first team secure a vital two points away at Harlequins with a much weakened team and saved us from fixture congestion and having players double up like some of our rivals did.

TBH there was 10 minutes of highlights on the SL website, and there wasn't much positive from Senior in those minutes, with two tries being scored past him, one where he was 100% to blame and the other where he was about 40% to blame.

Senior didnt stand out for me, given the quality of the team in general you would hope the more experienced players would step up, Lee Smith had a great game, Kylie put in a lot of work and even the young lads all stepped up a gear - not the best performance from kieth but not the worst either, the defensive lapse was hard to spot at the game as it was some distance away

I looked it up, saves anyone else bothering.

Those who know me know that I am certainly not lacking in nutrition.

He gave the young lads no chance of winning, they pulled out a great result and all he can do is find someone to have a go at, I'm not sure if he has praised the team and the young lads for the result on Saturday (I haven't seen it) but he is becoming very negative these days.

I would agree that for the first try Seniors "defending" was pish poor, but that is only based on the highlights which is not even really highlights, just the try's.

When it's difficult to defend or justify a position you've taken it's much easier to cry that posters are in a clique or picking on you. It's pretty insipid and there's some pretty pathetic examples of it on this thread.

Indeed. In fact, there's been very little positive comment about just how great that result was on Saturday in all the circumstances. Not having to postpone a fixture or have players double up like our rivals did might just prove crucial later in the season. Could any other team lose their first three choice half backs and still record an away win in Super League? I am not sure. yet only last season I recall Gotcha bemoaning that we had no depth in the halves. We should've been shouting from the rooftops about Saturday's result but, no, you're right, a certain element of our fans can do nowt but pish and moan.

Also it musn't be forgotten that Quins did not play badly. This was an astonshing (and strangely under celebrated on here) win by a genuinely makeshift side.

I posted last week that I was concerned that players are promoted to the 1st team without showing the form to warrant it. Commenting specifically how poor the respective players played the week prior to the match. I followed that statement up by saying that there should not be a pecking order for selection but showing hunger and form to warrant the shirt, and that it should apply to 1st choice players also. I never said anything whatsover about writing off the team. Now if you can show me anything that alludes to writing off the team in words, then I will gladly take my comments back. But otherwise I expect that just like last week you will be man enough to apologise again.

As for a negative for not coming on a message board and praising a side for the result, is that for real? Get in the real world. I was at the game on Saturday, a very long day that given the choice again I would not have bothered with. But I did my praising of the side by been there. Were you there on Saturday? Did you support this side with money and time to warrant the comments you put above?
