| Shows what an amazing feat reaching even 3,000 points is.
Some familiar names on that list. Can't remember having heard of Jim Ledgard though, and I must admit when I saw the name Mick Nanyn I thought of the ex-wigan forward rather than the rather 'rotund' lad shown on wikipedia. If swiftcorn gets upset about SL records vs previous eras (barmy really given the nowadays highly improbably longevity of the likes of Sullivan and Risman), I suspect his computer would explode if Nanyn managed to break all records whilst being a NL player.

As demonstrated by Spain having 5 teams left in European competition in comparison to England's 1
Like Sir Kev, Messi is by all accounts a very humble player and thoroughly down to earth lad

Back on topic...
Sir Kev's position in the all time chart really does show what an achievement his record is. Knocking Farrell out of the top 10 should be the next key milestone for me!

| Some illustrious names in that list.
It begs the qustion of how many Sullivan & Gus Risman would have scored but for the second world war.
Though I do know that games continued during the war & presumably points scored still counted in their respective career totals.

| 6 of Gus Risman's points were for Leeds in the 1942 Challenege Cup Final when he was a guest player for us. Another minor Leeds link, along with Ledgard.

| I wish people would stop mentioning the four point tries without mentioning that it was two points for a drop goal in Lewis Jones' say. As there is no record of just how many drop goals Lewis scored (all goals, drop or otherwise, were just recorded as 'goals' in those days), we will never know how his record would compare to Sir Kevin's.

Job done.
Sinfield: Played 385 + 27, Tries 68, Goals 1332, Drop Goals 27, Points 2,963
Jones: Played 385, Tries 144, Goals 1244, Points 2,920
At this point - as both have now started the same number of 1st grade games for Leeds - by deducting the number of games Jones scored in from his total number of appearances it seems he failed to register any points on some 30 occasions, that compares to 82 (actual count) from Sinfield's Leeds career.
__________
Someone recently suggested that SL Era records should be considered entirely seperately from those attained in the Pre SL Era's. With that in mind here is the comparative breakdowns of Tries scored for consideration:
Lewis Jones - 144
15 - Batley
11 - Warrington
9 - Bradford, Castleford, Hunslet
8 - Dewsbury, Keighley
7 - Bramley, Featherstone, Wakefield
6 - Barrow, Huddersfield
5 - Leigh
4 - Doncaster, Liverpool, Workington, York
3 - Blackpool, Hull KR, St Helens, Wigan
2 - Halifax, Hull, Rochdale, Swinton
1 - Salford
Kevin Sinfield - 68
11 - London/Harlequins
6 - Bradford
5 - Castleford, Hull, Salford, Widnes
4 - Huddersield, Warrington, Wigan
3 - Leigh, Wakefield
2 - Catalans, Featherstone, St Helens, Swinton
1 - Crusaders, Halifax, Hull KR, Whitehaven, Workington

| If you 'adjust' Sinfield's points for 3 point tries and 2 point drop goals, he would have 2,922 points - just clear of Jones anyway.
