I don’t ‘want’ welsby banned, i want consistency from the MRP. Fusitua got a ban for s very similar tackle not do long back.

On Knowles, that’s just cut and dried, youd look daft defending that.

I don't think it was malicious or had intent but I do think there was some contact with the head.
This year that would merit a ban, however silly.
That said the occasional one like Kasianos that got nothing so it's pretty much a 50/50.

We have been wanting consistency all year. But until anyone can present any evidence there was actually head contact (I have gone frame by frame on what’s on line and nothing looks like head contact to me) then it is consistent that there’s no ban. As I say, you can’t ban Welsby because the player got up with a bloody nose, that’s not evidence on its own (circumstantial as the courts would say)

Lets just get on with it and play the game. Knowles should be banned and if it is appealed it should be deemed as frivolous and extended. If that does not happen demonstrates a definate bias to players in England squad (not saints).
Everything else benefit of the doubt and move on.

What about the Matty Lees collision on Sio. What was the penalty for? Looked like knees to the head but not sure what he penalised. If it was for knees to the head then Dangerous contact and a ban / should also have been a yellow.

Difference with Fusitua's was that the impact came after the ball had gone. He actually ducked getting banned for a couple of very similar tackles earlier in the season. The part of me that is Leeds at all costs says - yes ban Welsby! That's the terrible thing about the MRP this season. We fans aren't talking about the great game in the offing, we are talking about which players should be prevented from playing in it. It's Cullen and co that need the red card.

MRP will do what they do, it’s a lottery so could be anything or nothing. I do think Knowles cops a ban however you spin it and that is ridiculous as there was absolutely no need.

What I do know is if as a Leeds fan I had the choice of removing two players from Saints team then Walmsley and Knowles would easily be in the top 4 picks.

On the counter if i was a saints fan and I had the same choice I would probably have Newman and Sezer in my top 4.

I think if Knowles isn’t playing saints drop down in intensity, especially in defence and they look a lot weaker at first interchange.

Welsby, it’s a close one. I saw an angle where it showed clear shoulder contact to the head, but if the MRP see the angle from the other side it’s NCTA.

Makinson, whilst calculated, was correctly called as a penalty only. NCTA.

Lees, does knee Sio in the head, it’s possibly careless, but is really just accidental.

So, Knowles is out and everyone else likely to play. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Yeah I agree, really sensible post and view of the different incidents. From our perspective Knowles being out on top of Walmsley should give us some confidence.

Leeming should have had a spell at 9 in that first half. He’s direct around the ruck, it was desperately needed. He’s tried to hard since coming back and been too dominating. I suspect he’ll feature for a stint next week before half time.

The record books will only show the result, and the best chance of us winning is by them having players banned.... so clear plenty of seats in the stand for me. Especially given some of the bans we've had, when penalties weren't even given for those 'offences'.
