I know the game was secondary but was anyone else also impressed with Oledzki ?
I thought he was the strongest ball carrier out there.

As others have said, an incredibly hard afternoon for all involved.
Walked out of the ground in tears for Rob, but also with pride at how special a club we really are. Hopefully we’ll never have to experience anything like it again.

On a side note, I’ve deleted my request from another thread asking for sponsors towards Robs fund. I was planning on getting him lifting the Grand Final trophy tattooed down my thigh. The deal was I was planning to pay half myself and the tattooist very generously offered to stump up the other half free of charge. After being inundated with messages on my social media accounts, I’ve now decided against it.
I’ve never been as hurt as a RL fan as I was yesterday after been called a fraud and accused of trying to make a quick buck from a terminally ill man. To those so called fellow fans of this great game, thanks for ruining another idea I had to make Rob’s pot that little big bigger.

Was waiting to see if there was a discussion on the match at all. And yes I agree with you, he looks outstanding, and this followed on from his second stint on Boxing day, which was also very good.

There really wasn't much to write home about on players, who looked distinctly worse as a team than Boxing day. But Oledzki, Walker, and Newman, seemed to be the bright spots of the day. And I would also add that, although I don't agree with it, Sutclife also did his job well.

Yes he looks like he's on a mission to cement his first team pot for this season which is great to see, I thought Cam Smith and Rhys Martin were our other standout players, but I'm not sure how much we can take out of it as the whole event seemed to be an emotionally charged one and a bit other worldly and that was just watching on the TV so I'm not sure what it was like in the stadium?

FWIW I thought it was one of the best RL spectacles I've seen (as I say I only saw it on TV) and it was both heartwarming and utterly saddening in equal measures but well done to everyone involved.

Probably not the best occasion to be trying to judge performances.

Made a change to see some fire in the bellies when there was a silly 10 minutes in the second half with Cuthbo and Martin conceding penalties. First time in a long time I've seen that happen and there be a defensive reaction from us flying up off the line and trying to make a dent in the ball carrier.

thought we went ok. got a good start and, frankly, it was too easy and we dropped off. better test against wigan

Great occasion and very moving. As someone watching on TV, the only negative was Sky failing to show the chats with the players at the end and talking over them instead.

From a performance perspective thought we looked weak on the wings. Martin looked good and so did Olezjski. Though Lui looked dangerous too. He will benefit from a full offseason with the squad.

Hopefully we will look a better team when Gale and Leeming are playing but lets not judge the performance too much yesterday.

Oledski Martin cameron smith the pick of the pack for me, L Sutcliffe Lui pick off the backs.
Mclelland took his try well but did not really show enough for me, was expecting him to show more against a championship side, newman nothing much Either, Broadbent is not championships standard yet never mind super league, and some people think he should be used instead of Evans. Nit writing him off but he is 2 years off being a super league player.

Handley looks horrendous. And whoever thought he could play fullback, wants their head shaking.

Just out of interest what did Newman Broadbent & Handley do wrong exactly? Also what did Evans do to prove he's worth a punt?

I thought Newman was very good, not sure what to critisize, especially considering he is out of position. Broadbent, other than put in touch, which probably any other player would have been in same scenario, not sure what he did wrong. Evans, don't think he did anything wrong either. Handley, continually stepping back inside when the space there, and when running at the line doesn't simply go for the gap, which is poor decision making to me. This on top of continually running sideways behind players, risking obstruction calls. Contact in the tackle though I think he does really well. But certainly shouldn't be our number one winger, which is where we are.

I thought Broadbent showed a fair few bits of naivety which is to be expected. I think that hes got potential but is a long long way off.

In last two games gone with sutcliffe in centre and Newman on the wing looks like that might be how we go at the start of the season until briscoe is back

Greg Eden was by miles super leagues top scorer recently, and he looks like going to Keighley this season. What the hell number of tries has to do with what I put I don't know? NO he shouldn't be our number one winger, IF we had the right players in the squad. Unfortunately, we don't have those players, and hence he is our number one winger.

We were tucked into the very end of the South Stand as had my young lad with us for the first time so really didn't have a particularly good view of the match itself to be honest but from what I saw have to agree - felt like Oledzki had a great game from the limited view I had! Looked good and strong.

Incredible game to be at though, echo what's been said here. Second I saw Rob come out in bits I had tears in my eyes. Incredible showing from the Rugby family
