| Tony Currie was a phenomenal player wasnt he Big A? I really wanted to put in him. Nobody really talks about him but in both attack and defence he was brilliant. Came to Leeds a little known Queenslander and went on to play Origin and Test football.
One of the best players ive seen at Leeds. I had to go with Schoey and Beefy tho kust for longevity reasons.

He certainly was. Great acceleration off the mark and superb balance. We've had a few good uns from Oz in the centre. Mark McGaw was hard as nails and ET was all class.

Coach not sure it matters but would go for Tony Smith.
Could easily put Harris in at 1. I’ve gone
For an impact bench.
Agree with Arthur and Marty about Tony Currie, he would probably be 4th choice centre behind Les Dyl in his pomp for mine. Watkins would also be well in the mix at his best.
A few other shout outs for me would be Mark Laurie who made a massive impact in 83/84.
Going back further Alan Smith was a brilliant defensive winger and sound finisher, I did not see much of Ray Batten but was class, Bob Haigh was the same, very smart player like Liam Farrell. Graham Eccles was tremendous in the 70’s. Roy Powell another favourite.

He was. And we actually won a trophy (other than a Yorkshire Cup). It was a long time between drinks.

I still cannot see past les Dyl being swatted like a school kid by Mal Meninga, cannot take him seriously as a alleged great player. Watkins could gave been the greatest but lacked conviction and aggression just like Newlove, hopefully going forward Newman as that

I certainly am. I saw Terry Webb about 3 years ago, he looked very well was out with some old Hunslet players and Wardy and a few others.
He was good in that first season, used to smoke like a chimney.

Meninga was a bit special and Les was a long way over the hill by then. For mine Les was excellent and very quick upto about 1978 but his decline was pretty dramatic considering he was not that old.
Bit like Steve Pitchford, Les was at his peak around 76/77 for mine.

| Leeds were a one man team with Harris. They immediately developed into a unit once he left.
Donald nearly made the cut on the wing, but Bai changed the game with the way he took the first hit ups. Loads of centres to choose from. Just going with personal preference. Always preferred Sinny at LF and Cuthbo again changed the way the game is played with his offloads.
Webb
Bai
Carroll
Moon
Hall
McGuire
Burrow
Peacock
Buderus
Leuluai
Ellis
Morley
Sinfield
Cuthbertson
Lauititi
McDermott
Diskin
Watkins made too many unforced errors and Senior never tried to defend high kicks. Despite his height, he just gave penalties away, by trying to block people off.

| This is really hard isn't it....I started watching in 1981. My team for what its worth:
1. Brent Webb - really good extra playmaker without over-egging it, and quick.
2. John Bentley - I know he had flaws but when he was on he could turn a game
3. Garry Schofield - people forget just how good a centre young Schofield was. Utter class.
4. Keith Senior - big and fast and not afraid to get stuck in.
5. Ryan Hall - big and a very good finisher
6. Kevin Sinfield - captain, goalkicker and heart of the team
7. Danny McGuire - not sure what was better, the 2004 speed merchant or the 2015+ playmaker
8. Kylie Leuluai - solid as rock
9. Matt Diskin - 4 championships and a Harry Sunderland Award.
10. Jamie Peacock - best prop to play for Leeds by a distance
11. Gareth Ellis - really good player in attack and defence
12. Adrian Morley - saw him stand up to the Aussies on his own several times
13. Ellery Hanley - best player I've seen for Leeds.
Subs:
14. Iestyn Harris - probably the most naturally gifted player I've seen for Leeds. Not afraid to try to change a game, hence sub.
15. Barrie McDermott - actually a really good intimidating prop at his best
16. Paul DIxon - tough as teak and could play prop at a push.
17. Ali Lauiti'iti - superb impact forward.
Bentley's probably the one I'll get shot down most for, but I was really struggling for a right wing. Ford (not for us sadly)? ET (hardly played there and wasn't his best position)? Cummins (just no)? Grothe (16 games doesn't make him much of a Leeds player to me)? Fallon (I liked him but not the greatest)? Donald (speedy but not much else for mine)? Smith (not a winger)? We just haven't had a genuine standout winger aside from Hall for mine. I'm really hoping Fusitu'a will become a winger we all love to watch.
Anyway, all good fun and I'll probably look at my own list in horror tomorrow.....

| Yes I agree winger is a relatively weak spot for us. If it weren't for Marcus Bai I'd have put Jim Fallon in there without much hesitation. He really was good when he put his mind to it. You'd probably not have chosen to pair him with Iro if you could avoid it given they were both prone to absent mindedness - but outside a centre who would rev him up and keep an eye on him he'd be great.

| I don't remember seeing Ellery Hanley play. It says 91-95 on wiki, so his last season must've been my 1st, as we'd just signed Entat from PSG when I first watched a game on Sky with my old man in a bar in Gran Canaria.

| Entat came to us from Avignon. But he couldn't dislodge Holroyd from the team by that point. 94/95 was Ellery's last year, but what an incredible one it was for him personally.
