IIRC 2014 was his first year as a "proper" full-time player, having completed his degree studies. With the right programme over the off-season there's no reason he can't add say 5kgs without losing his mobility like Walters has done.

That's out of date on the Leeds website. However, it isn't purely about weight. I bet you in the gym, Wards weights are significantly higher, which is that strength he shows in the collision. Keinhorst doesn't break tackles, hence the lightweight. He does however run good lines, which is what G1 said.

| I wonder if Keinhorst would be a good option for 13? He runs great lines, has great vision and a good pass and as a lot of posters are sayign at the minute he is a bit light weight, at 13 he may need to stay agile and keep running good lines. I know when he played for GB Students he played 6 or 7 and won single handedly most games for them including the world cup final at 6. I personally think it may be a good option.

| No need for Keinhorst to bulk up just yet. He may well end up in the back row but for now he provides much needed centre cover for us and will get other utilty opportunities because of his skill set which could include half back and hooker cover.

Lifts that predominantly utilise lower body strength I'd tend to agree. I'm assuming the stats were up-to-date as of pre-season, not sure how you'd know otherwise.

I don't think he absolutely needs to bulk up, because he's more valuable to the club as centre cover than second row, where if fit Ward, Ablett and Delaney will between them be 11 and 12, with Singleton, Cuthbertson, Delaney and JJB being the options for a "big" 13 and Sutcliffe being the option of we're going for a ball-playing loose (especially if Brierley joins)
Keinhorst will be very useful to have around with the new interchanges, where I'd imagine the ideal bench make-up will be two middle forwards, a hooker and a utility who can fill in for the backline with minimum disruption in the event of injury or alternatively spell a bit of second row. Keinhorst could be perfect for that.

Care to remind me what the new interchanges will be? Is it being reduced down to 8?

Yes. Not sure if it's official yet but apparently it's going down to 8.

Whilst that obviously wasn't some future vision by the club, I did point out several weeks ago that if the number of interchanges does go down that we would probably be better prepared to cope with it due to our players already usually doing long minutes.

Fact 1 McGuire will be captain. Who has skippered in Sinfield's absence?
Fact 2 Keinhorst is a solid starter. Check the team line ups in the match day programmes.
Fact 3 Keinhorst is lightweight. Check the website stats. He's almost identical to Ward.
Don't argue against facts.

1. I thought you said "will be". Oh yes you did say "will be", not was, is, but "will be"
2. He played four games up to Wards injury to cover injured players. Only two of which second row. That is not "solid starter" that is squad cover.
3. As explained by me and others, looking at someone is not determining lightweight or not. Muscle mass plays a part, and how strong in the collision. You only have to watch to see the collisions.
Learn the difference between facts and opinion, like I said. What you stated was your opinion.

| It will be interesting to see how they go with Keinhorst regarding his body for next season. Obviously players particularly during pre-season will be conditioned based on the position they play and I doubt it was in the plans last November that Keinhorst would be playing weekly at 2nd row.

Well to be fair, that was where he was playing at Hunslet. Perhaps that was the plan to develop.

Not true. In the last 4 games when he has been emergency cover for the 2nd row he has made 8 tackle busts out of 39 carries with an average of one TB every 4.87 carries which is a better average than the Ablett, Kylie, JP, Cuthbo, Aiton, and Delaney for the same period. Only Singo and Ward of the forwards beat his average so he is not doing too bad for a lightweight.

| Personally wouldn't want him to bulk up. He clearly has strength as it is with a bit of speed. At the moment he offers good cover in a number of positions which is important. For me this is where his strength is versatile utility player

Whilst the "bulk up" programme worked for Stevie Ward it has back-fired thus far on Walters if JK stays "as is" he easily comes into the team at Centre ,Wing or BR and imo looks more than comfortable there i'd say he's pretty much under-rated by many.

| Keinhorst is a more skillful version of Liam Botham. Perfectly adequate in a number of positions and a useful player to have in any squad. Someone you know won't let you down through lack of effort.

Agree with that. Players like Keinhorst are important to the team, not in the sense of a major player like a Peacock or McGuire but in adding depth to a squad. If he's happy playing a few games a year for Leeds with the rest at Hunslet then he'll be a very useful player for us in the future.

With the amount of injuries Delaney, JJB and Achurch pick up, being the backup second rower comes with plenty of opportunity.

Maybe Walters issue isn't that he bulked up it's just that he's not as good as Stevie Ward or Keinhorst?
