| Thought we were way off last night and only played for 20 minutes or so.
How Moon was in the top 4 by the so called Rugby legends is another mystery.
He needs to move back to centre and we either need Lilley in the halves or we need to find a half asap.
Who was the guy the commentators were on about from Australia who could be moving to SL?
Is he a half and more importantly is he any good?
If Moon is there for his pivotal play and tackling then Lilley could match that.
The forwards were ok but needed some size to make a difference.
Hull played reasonably well and for me Kelly was the difference .
Kelly in a Leeds shirt and we would have won that game.
Hull deserved the win last night but I would be a tad worried if a one point win against a below strength and below performing team is considered "a good win"
On the other hand you can only play what is in front of you and Hull did that and got the 2 points.
The worry is if Cuthbertson and possibly Ward are injured on top of what we have out it could be a long few weeks ahead.
What happened to the 8 point try for a foul in the art of scoring?
Or was it deemed Parcell didn't score hence just the penalty try?

seemed like a cop out to me - otherwise, wouldnt every team just try and kick the ball out of a players possession when theyre in the act of scoring? what exactly was the penalty against them, a try we were scoring anyway? you're losing nothing by doing it. should have penalised the dangerous play and given us a pen under the sticks, or sin binned their player imo

Parcell knocked on therefore it was a penalty try rather than an 8 point try

Give me an example where the team is on a warning and didn’t happen.
I repeat, it is bad interpretation by officials which are wrong, because like you said, when not on a warning it isn’t sinbinned.

Still doesn't alter the fact that you cannot penalise a team for the same offence twice!

| Quote ="Backwoodsman"Can’t complain about the result, not much between both teams but hull just about deserved it. We probably used up too much energy in the first half. Golding was rock solid at full back, handley looked a bit frail. Hall justified his world class wingers tag.
Probably singleton would have made a difference last night. Unfortunately our atacking plays seemed very slow and predictable . At the moment saints and Wigan seem to be the best teams, obviously that can change. On the plus side hull managed to field the strongest team available and just scraped a win. We however are still well down on numbers. Tonight’s match at Wigan may indicate how cas are progressing.'"
Hall justified his world class wingers tag. does hall ever need to justify anything, along with big les the best winger of the super league era by some margin. awesome try last night a combination of though sheer power and a bit guile, and i would rather see a player score like that than flying over the corner flag, any winger can score when its handed on the plate.

Fans of other teams on these boards every year for the last few now wanting him put out to pasture for england at the expense of the latest jonny come lately that has bagged 30 odd walk in tries for their team.still the best winger in england and SL for me and has been for almost a decade now.Leeds and England will be far worse off when he does move on.

That second one was Handley at fault for sure, hall covered his winger as he should have and his centre should have had his man.

Do you not understand what a team warning is, and the purpose? Because you seem to really be struggling with the concept.
When it happens in other games, penalty given for offence, and player binned, do you cry out then that they are penalised twice? I am pretty sure you don’t, because that is the point, one is a penalty for the offence, the other is a team punishment for not adhering to the warning.
Same thing last night, the try was given for the offence. The point is the team were on a warning, and as a result the team should have been punished for it.
As I keep saying it is incorrect interpretation of the rules by the officials. Otherwise the rules would state, team warnings do not come into effect in the instance of a penalty try.

| I agree with Brisbane. It's difficult to properly judge us until we get some power back in the middle of the park, and consistent go forward.
Myler has been outstanding in every game hesplayed IMO apart from the last quarter of the last 2 games, and I think a half like Moon partnering him suits him. He's at his best when he's the main pivot. Saying that, Moon was poor yesterday, and as BR suggested, I think he should concentrate on running the ball andkicking up and unders, his passing isn't up to much, so leave it to the people who can.
I also think it'd help if we had a full back with a better passing game to take some of the responsibility off Moon

The only problem with that is we become way too predictable. Shut Myler down, shut Leeds down because we have no other threat with ball in hand whatsoever or anybody else we are able to go to, to keep the opposition guessing. I totally agree with your summary of Myler, he has certainly exceeded my expectations so far, but i feel we made need a little bit more when we get to the business end.we will see

As has been previously indicated to you, the fact a penalty try was awarded was deemed punishment enough in this situation. To then sin bin the player would have been seen as a double punishment. That isn't to say the team warning was ended at this point, it wasn't. If another Hull player had offended while the referee deemed the team warning to be still active then a yellow card would have followed.

| The duration of a team warning is always something subjective - as far as I am aware, there isn't a set time limit for it. Obviously, if a team concedes another penalty with a minute or two of the team warning, the referee is going to give a yellow card but does it end after 5 minutes? 10 minutes?

This is the grey area, it is at the referee's discretion.

| My only worry with myler for drop goals is that he doesn't seem to strike the ball cleanly which you can see in his conversions. I've been impressed in game particularly the partnership with Watkins but the drop goal situation is something to think about.
I do think we miss walker any idea of whens back?
Also you can see the influence of garbutt is also missed. I know McDermott said we are not rushing into getting an prop but I think we need to get somebody in to take the load off.

I haven't swallowed the team warning part of the rule book but I dont think its as cut and dried as you make out. We were on a team warning for a run of penalties of interfering at the ptb. Just because you are on a team warning it doesnt mean any penalty has to be binned. What if you are marginally offside chasing an attacking kick for example? That would be incredibly harsh. Bowden's was a very different offence to the others that had brought about the warning. It was a desperate lunge to attempt to prevent a try at a crucial moment in the game. I have no issue with the penalty try. But in situations like that it has to be at the discretion of the ref, and I don't think any ref would have produced a card for that.

It's basically until the referee is happy that the team on a warning has made enough effort to clean up their act. Totally at their discretion, but I would guess as a rule of thumb if you are squeaky clean for 4 or 5 defensive sets it will be lifted.

Be more effective if refs just binned every third person caught ar$ing about in the ruck, interfering or lying offside, say.
