He does not hide in games. He tackles harder than some of our props, he now does all the kicking, and he consistently takes on the line whenever our desperately outgunned pack create even a sniff of momentum. Brodie Croft is absolutely not the problem.

Croft, Handley and Martin have been our best players

This is like some strange reverse Christmas, “has he gone yet” rather than “has he been”…

I notice the post match conferences are getting shorter, and while he's trying to look calm there looks to me to be a bit of panic. I think he's far better off acknowledging poor performances, which he did about the second half. That at least shows he can see the issues. Far too often he's banging on about being in the contest etc when we've been awful, as though he's watched an entirely different game.

I'd guess Rohan now knows, if he didn't before, that we still have too many passengers in the team, no leaders, and an almost laughably soft front row. Mistakes can be fixed, if needs be by dropping players, but having re-watched the game I can't see how any coach could do much without a massive shakeup of the pack. Utterly incapable of holding their own for more than a few minutes. And Frawley looks actually worse than some of us feared when he signed, if that's possible.

As often we must agree to differ - the fact that if, you are correct and there is a dearth of half backs in the NRL Croft would be there already. I would suggest Craig Bellamy to be a good judge of a RL player and he had Croft and let him go.

Sezer played 3 times as many games in the NRL as Croft - we never saw Sezer put in any effort when he was over here. Different quality of player to Croft.

I am not saying we should remove Croft - he is not Frawley - he just needs to up his game.

Yes let’s agree to disagree, i suspect your in a minority of people who thinks that about Croft.

Croft wasn't let go by Bellamy as such. He was a relatively unproven halfback, and the Broncos offered him a huge deal to go there, and he really didn't handle the pressure well. To the point that his form and confidence collapsed and he went to England. The common factor between the Broncos and Leeds is that he was/is expected to drive the team to some uber level of performance when frankly the rest of the team just isn't very good.

Earlier today, Brad Arthur was asked if he would consider a job in England, he answered in the affirmative.

If we loose next week hes gone.

For him to be saying we're still a new team is frankly embarrassing

I have to say that any fans still saying we should keep RS to the end of the season are deluded - the guy is out of his depth , and is now taking both the team and the club backwards - we are becoming a laughing stock !
What also has to be considered is that keeping him to the end of the season creates other major problems for his successor. Teams are already looking at signings for next season ( I predict Martyn will be in the NRL , Ash will be off the Cats and Croft the NRL ) if he stays on.
By getting a new coach in now , it gives the guy a chance to look at the whole system - recruitment, training, conditioning , and the team as this all needs sorting . He will at least have a chance to do this , so we don`t waste next season , which is what will happen if RS stays to the end of the season, as well as the new guy being left with the dregs , that no one else wants , as far as new signings are concerned . To do this major review of our club , we need a tried and trusted experienced coach , and not the " trainee " currently in charge.

It does make you wonder what Croft and Ackers think of Smiths coaching ability and tactics having previously played under a very good coach.

He's going to leave us in a terrible state if we dont get shot immediately, Friday night was as soft a performance as i can remember seeing, everyone involved really should be embarrassed, getting physically dominated and rag dolled like that, humiliating, or it should be.

The more I think about this the more I think we need to change now. I’d ask Shaun Wane if he would take the job for the rest of this year, but not longer, and then would look to bring in either Brad Arthur or Peter Wallace. Wane would clear out the rank culture, and could advise on players to keep or replace such that Arthur or Wallace would then be able to start with a clean slate.

The culture on the sporting side stinks and we nee a strong hand to clean that up first.

Rohan Smith is obviously a dead man walking, it’s just a matter of how long he’s allowed to stagger on or whether he removes himself from the nightmare. For most normal people the pressure would be almost unbearable, but I’m not sure how Smith is wired. There’s also the financial considerations for Smith and the club, and I’ve a feeling Smith will need to be shown the door rather than just walking away. It must be embarrassing for Smith to look anyone who knows him in the eye whether that’s behind the gates at Headingley or supporters that see him in his civvies. When you hear of the unrest amongst some St Helens fans while they sit at the top of the table, it’s easy to understand how the situation is becoming so toxic amongst the Leeds support base.

Just listened to a bit of the Lot Pod (good job guys), and they mentioned an interesting stat. Following the initial bounce in the half season where we got to the GF, Smith’s Leeds have only won 17 out of 41 games since. That’s appalling, other coaches have been shown the door for similar form, he can’t possibly stay.

If it's new coach time we should be reaching out now and see who can meet the criteria ( proven quality/ can come ASAP/ 3-4 weeks) rather than temp coach for half a season and then another new coach imo.
